One of my favorite movie series BTTF. Reopened this disc package maybe after 10 years since last time (as kids need to burn the hours..) Now I feel extremely old, and wonder what happened to my skateboard I had at youth..

인생 최고의 영화시리즈라고 생각되는 백투더 퓨처…. 근 10년간 책장에 있던걸 오랜만에 열어 감상… 참 옛날이다란 생각..ㅎㅎ 저 영화에 광분해 다들 스케이트보드 들고 다니던 쌍팔년도 어린시절이 떠올랐다..

이제는 잠자는 시간외에는 상시 근무가 점점 낯설어 지지 않지만 그래도 해지기전에 잠간 동네 공원까지 20분 뛰고 오는건 좋은 refresh다..

Dalgona Coffee

오 신비로운 맛… 인터넷에 떠다니 내용이 대충 커피:설탕:뜨거운물을 2:2:2로 하고 점성이 생길때까지 겁나게 저어 주다가 얼음+우유 위에 끈적해진 커피 달고나를 올려주면 된다고 해서 집에서 나도 시도 (내가 좀 관종인지라…ㅋㅋ)

허나 집에 instant coffee가 없어서 뀡대신 닭으로 G7 베트남 커피 한봉지로 커피는 가름하고 저어주기는 힘드니 믹서기로 한참 지져주셨더니 그럴싸하게 나온다..ㅎㅎ

역시 먹고 노는건 한국 사람을 따라갈 수 없다는걸 보여줌..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Wow.. Tried the ‘viral Korean sugar creamy’ coffee aka Dalgona (달고나) coffee

Pretty simple – the formula is instant coffee, sugar, hot water- all 2 table spoons and mix it up till you see the sticky foam starts to build up and the color turns golden brown – then prepare a cup with ice & milk and just top it with the Dalgona foam – then wait a bit and watch the foam melting into the milk. Then simply sip it.. 🙂

This one I used Vietnamese G7 coffee as I didn’t have the instant coffee as a replacement for 2 spoon of instant coffee but worked fine..

Milkie Milkie Bingsu Cafe at Edmonds – The Last Dessert Before Corona Shutdown

Happen to visit here at last Saturday after grocery shopping (well it is more of restocking) and this dessert end up being the last dessert we had at café (with ‘very distancing’ in the store) for foreseeable future period. -Just a day before governor’s order of restaurant shutdown.

Nice Bingsu with fine & crispy ice but their ice was not milk based, so I wondered why they are calling themselves as Milkie Milke

As US never opens up any infection source details of confirmed cases on Corona -only the numbers of confirmed cases and deaths by county with news of random people getting confirmations, I found myself feeling more nervous on being outside. Especially noticing the continued growth of confirmed case numbers (now Washington state just passed 1k) Now, I think the dessert I had at last weekend seems crazier & stupid idea than few days ago..

Also, after almost-two-weeks of ‘stuck at home’, staying at home feels more comfortable as fear of being outside becomes bigger than the challenges of ‘stuck at home’

Maybe this pandemic might end up creating lots of new 2020 Otakus who will refuse to get outside and stay at home with repetition of work & sleep after all things are settled.. (and I might be already one of those.. 🙂 )

결국 당분간의 마지막이 된 ‘가게에 앉아 먹는’ 디저트 (이제는 주정부에서 모든 음식점을 takeout 만 하게금 폐쇄해서 더이상 이렇게 앉아 먹는 ‘호사’는 당분간 불가능..)

우유 빙수도 아니면서 왜 밀키밀키지?

한편, 미국에서는 확진자에 대한 감염 관련 정보를 전혀 공개하지 않고 county별 확진자 사망자 수만 발표하는 관계로 점점 증가하는 수자를 보며 (오늘부로 Washington 주 1000명 돌파…) 진짜로 이젠 어디서 어떻게 걸릴수도 있다는 생각에 밖에 나가기가 무서워진다. 한편, 지금 보면 이렇게 주말에 먹은것도 진짜 간이 부은/미친 행동이 아닐까란 생각까지 든다…

이제는 슬슬 나가는것에 대한 공포가 집안에만 있는 따분함 보다 더 커지니 집에 있는게 마음이 더 편해진다..ㅡ.ㅡ; 이번 대공황은 결국 같은 방에서 자다 일하다만 하고 사회생활을 거부하는 2020형 오타쿠를 많이 양산하겠다는 생각도 들고 나도 그중 하나가 되어가는 느낌이다…

Last weekend at Walmart in Lynnwood. WHY! WHY???

Okay.. I can understand hand sanitizer, wipes, and masks.. but why are people crazy on toilet paper rolls? Every time I go to restroom I get nervous as we don’t have much left…

계속 이러다간 2-3주 있으면 손으로 X 딱을 태세…ㅡ.ㅡ 변기에 한번 씩 앉을 때마다 불안감이 커진다..ㅡ.ㅡ;;

풀무원 생면식감 순한맛 라면/Pulmeone Air Dried Mild Ramen

H마트에서 싸게 팔아서 한 봉다리 사와본 라면.. 이거 물건이네… 면은 아주 쫄깃해주시고 맵지 않아 대박이네… (물론 유효기간이 한달 남은 라면이라 할인한듯..ㅎㅎ)

Another wow ramen.. ‘Air dried’ seem to be resulting in very nicely textured chewy noodle. (and also not too spicy nor strong in taste..)

Trump Announcements

Wow this is a strong. Closing the border, slashing the tax etc – regardless of anyone like him or not, Trump is extremely good at scratching the itchy part.

호불호가 갈리지만 어쨌건 트럼프 행정부의 실행력은 항상 설마~ (대유럽 국경봉쇄, 세금 감면) 했던것들을 진짜로 한다. (물론 실제 될지는 일어나기 전까지는 장담은 불가하지만….ㅎㅎ)

Working Remote

지난 목요일 오후부터 회사 권고사항을 지키기 위해 100% WFH

사무실에서 가져온 monitor와 mini bay를 laptop에 연결해서 쓰고 있는데 (휴 이거 안가져왔으면 진짜 큰일날뻔…) 정작 문제는 단순히 일하는 장소만 바꾼게 아니라는 점이다..

사실 필치못한 사정일 때 종종 WFH을 해오긴 했지만 -대면이 필요한 meeting은 일정변경하거나 아니면 아예 meeting이 거의 없는 날 혹은 내가 주재를 해야하는 meeting이 없는 날 식으로- 이제는 그게 아니다 보니 이런저런 애로사항이 가득하다..Communication에 더 신경써야하고 (안그래도 잘못하는디..ㅎㅎ) 메일도 더 잘써야하는디…

일도 많아서 거의 밥먹고 화장실 가는 시간빼고는 Guestroom에서 일하다 자다 일어나서 일하기를 무한 반복하고 있다.. (사진의 책상옆은 바로 침대..) 이게 무신 고시원도 아니고..ㅎㅎ

About a week of 100% WFH – I am so glad that I brought the extra monitor and mini bay to home to connect to my laptop 🙂 long term WFH without extended monitor would have been a nightmare 🙂

This longer term WFH has been imposing lot of fun challenges – had to face lots of messages and emails (which would have been a direct conversation at office) and extra emphasis on communication -which is always tough..

Back to continuous “in room” working and sleeping..:)
