세상이 바뀌어도 한가한 국전은 여전히 그대로다….그래도 이야기들어보니 애니중심의 상가로 변했다는데…어쨌건 한 때 콘솔 게임의 성지였던 곳…

원래는 지난 번에 건강검진했던 병원을 찾아 위내시경을 하려하는데 그 병원의 검진센터가 국전으로 이전해서 더 편하게 검진받고 나왔다.

암튼 그러다 보니 역은 게임광고로 도배되고 심지어 역내 안내 스크린에는 무선 USB 충전까지 해주는 편리한 기능이 있었다..

Small Towns in Massachusetts

Last Min 준비물들을 사려고 Boston 외곽의 Target에 갔다가 동쪽으로 가려하니 어쩔 수 없이 시골길들을 지나게 되었다… Massachusetts도 대척 점 Washington과 비슷하게 시리 해안가(Boston, Seattle)에 대부분의 인구/도시들이 분포해 있고 내륙으로는 드문드문 마을들이 있어서… -근데 다 오래된 마을들인지 옛 New England풍의 건축물들이 즐비해 보는 즐거움이 있었다 – 그닥 지루하지는 않았다. (마치 Assassin’s Creed 미국편-아마 III였을듯-을 실제로 보는 듯한 느낌…ㅎㅎ)

Happen to drive along rural or peaceful area of Massachusetts – maybe similar to Washington, major metropolitan is on the seaside while the interior of the state is peaceful. Feels like driving along the scene of Assassin’s Creed 🙂

Hisense 58-inch ULED U6 Series Quantum Dot LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV

아쉽지만 우리집의 눈을 즐겁게 해주던 삼성 LED TV가 오랜 기간 끝에 사망해주셨다. 대충 부품 갈아끼면 살아날거 같긴한데 리모콘도 맛이 가셨고 부품값도 대충 보아하니 새 TV사는것 보다 별로 Saving이 안되는 시츄에이션…

그래서 삼성이나 LG같이 좋은걸 살까 어떤걸 살까 잠시 고만하다가 어차피 TV를 그리 보지도 않고 해서 이리 된거 아마존이나 구글에 영혼을 더 팔기로 생각해 스마트 TV를 고민하다 그냥 저렴한 파이야 TV로 장만했다. 이름이 장황하게 길기에 대충 예상은 했다..ㅎㅎㅎ

가끔 영화크게 보고 게임할때 크게 보는걸로 만족..ㅎㅎ

Nothing super fancy and standard view quality with larger screen – that is enough for TV which we hardly watch 🙂

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Long story short without any spoiler – Walked into the theater without single word of knowledge but absolutely a great movie and must see.

Maybe one personal factor – watching Spiderman series had always been a stone in my stomach for years (because of ….) but now I am totally free from that.. 🙂

긴말 필요없다 – 아무것도 모르고 영화관에 들어갔는데…. 꼭 보세요들!!

(한편 항상 불편한 마음으로 보던 스파이더맨을 부담 1도 없이 봐서 더 즐거웠는지도…ㅎㅎㅎ)

Forza Horizon 5

Although I miss lots of things from my old workplace, and one of the most – so far – is the fact I am far away from launch of great games in service. I have been extremely close in monitoring tons of game launches at old place and actually have watched myself adjusting the ‘tie’ both intentionally or unintentionally after I departed.

However, missing the opportunity to closely monitor the launch of Forza Horizon 5 is one of the biggest thing among those – Forza Horizon series never disappoints & the beautiful & fun/casual driving experience is always fun. As I am not close any more, didn’t jump into this game immediately at launch but made an effort to jump in at this weekend. This reminds me one of the big shift of mind I made when deciding this transition – ‘Gaming is truly personal interest for a while from now’ 🙂

사실 이번 이직은 너무나 변화가 큰 이직이라 많은게 아직 낯설고 정서적으로는 예전걸 그리워하는 것들이 종종 있다.. (실제로 회사 access가 끊긴 첫날 좀 당황해주셨음…) 이런 그리움은 사실 날마다 의식적으로든/무의식적으로든 점점 무뎌져 가긴 하는데 , 여전히 제일 아쉬운점으로 남은 건 Forza Horizon 5 launch를 보지 못하고 나온 점이다.. 이 게임은 정말이지 예술이다.. 그리고 당분간 ‘게임은 단순 고객의 입장에서… :)’로 생각을 정리한점이 다시 떠오른다..

Free Guy

A movie fun to watch and story about NPC (Non Player Character) in game. Movie had a bit similar to concept of Ralph breaks the internet with lots of inspiration from GTA V, Fortnite, RDR, and others.. All the audience in theater was teen kids with their parents 🙂

게임속의 그냥 ‘지나가는’ 케릭터가 무슨 로직에 의해서인지 자각을 하면서 벌어지는 일을 보여주는 재미있는 영화… 나름 무심코 지나쳐가는 상관 없는 케릭터가 어떻게 게임을 바꾸는지 보여주는데..사실 “세계관이 있는 게임”에 대한 이해를 요구하는 어려울수도 있는 영화였는듯 싶다.. (좀 구체적으로 이야기하자면 유명한 온라인 세계의 게임들의 요소들은 다 짬뽕시켰다.. GTA V, Fortnite, RDR, SimCity, Sims 등등)

암튼 그래서인지 영화관객은 거진 모두 10대 남자애들과 그들을 데리고 온 부모들..ㅎㅎㅎ

Controller Stick Rubber Replacement

애용하던 콘트롤러들의 고무가 떨어져 나가서 불편해져서 이걸 버려야 하나 고민하던중 아무 생각없이 아마존을 찾아봤더니 다 있다..ㅎㅎㅎ

Cheap replacement of broken/worn out rubber for controller: $7 for 16 silicon cap 🙂 it is crazy to realize anything guessable is actually available at Amazon..

Microsoft Flight Simulator

뭐 항덕까지는 아니지만 이래저래 비행기를 좋아했던 사람으로써…-비행기를 몰아본적이 없기때문에 기능적으로 어떻다라고 느낄수는 없지만- 근래 마소에서 출시한 게임중 완성도로는 제일이지 않을까 싶을 정도로 정말 잘만든 게임이다란 생각 가득… (한편 이렇게 데이터 잡아먹는 게임도 없지 않을까 싶은데 아름답게 구현했다..)

이 게임 출시전까지 Xbox Series 급 콘솔을 찾으려고 애썼던 노력이 헛되진 않았다..ㅎㅎ

뭐 이 게임이 Call of Duty나 GTA V급을 아니라는 건 자명하지만 게임 개발의 수준, 고객의 UX 영역을 한단계 더 높였다고 생각하고 있으심…

자 대충 운항의 방법은 대충 익힌듯하니 이제 어떻게 비행기를 이착륙시키는지 공부해보자..ㅋㅋㅋ

Beautifully crafted game and surprising experience on Console. Now I need to learn how to take off/land the plane 🙂

Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 Showcase

항상 6월은 긴장의 연속… 연말연시와 더불어 1년 농사중 가장 중요한 두 이벤트 중 하나인 E3 올해도 6월은 왔고.. 시대에 맞게(?) 온라인으로 100% 진행했다… LA를 못간건 아직도 억울…ㅎㅎ

직원입장에서는 살떨리는 행사이지만 암튼 무사히 잘 마쳤고, 반응도 나쁘지는 않았으니 잘 마무리 된듯.. 뭐 확실한건 앞으로 게임을 자주 하게 될거 같은 예감과… Xbox냉장고를 사야겠다는 생각만땅..ㅎㅎㅎ

Highlight of June at work always have been E3 and this year was the same – although everything was digital 🙂 – Still miss LA!!

There are two sure things- I will play most of these with Game Pass 😀 & I will be in line to buy a mini fridge 😀
