Thank you Seattle Mariners to make local fans to make the dream true to bring the top spot on AL West which always thought as a not so easy tasks due to Houston Trashbaskets….
This place has connection with my personal histories….
In the old days when I was working for T-Mobile, we always asked the leadership to consider sponsoring baseball or MLB and even asked why not purchasing the naming rights of ‘Safeco Field’ – home of Seattle Mariners which is 10 min drive from T-Mobile US’ HQ.
After almost a two decade, both happened although I left for other business π and this summer I had the fortune to visit this “T-Mobile Park” to pick up my son and his friends π
Also, near the home plate entrance now there is a statue of KGJ who visited this field for the first time at the week we moved to Seattle π – and old Seattle baseball fans still believe this new ballpark is a gift from KGJ π
I didn’t follow this year’s world series actively as the bracket to World Series was too obvious (and Mariners missed it r.i.d.i.c.u.l.o.u.s.l.y….) but last game proved all the ingredients of closing the series – OMG bonehead errors, player turning into crazy mode with autumn, and all pitching rotation is ignored to win π
By any reasons without any specific reasons, I have always enjoyed/admired watching Cardinals games as more of generic baseball fan π This team always had superstars made lots of fan’s eye enjoyable during the days I was following lots of MLB games π
To name a few; from that juiced McGwire, Rollen, Edmonds, and even funny father Tatis who hit 2 Grand Slams in a single inning to Korean famous legend Chanho Park (All Korean MLB fans call Tatis Jr as ‘Son of “One inning two Grands”‘), and recently Pujols, Molina.
Also this team had famous Korean players like Oh and Kim although was a short stint π
Yes Mariners had a good run – refusing to lose as much as they can with decent pitchers and good field players but San Diego series proved what is needed to win at higher series ball in autumn
You gotta have one or two fearful hitter -who can hit at any time- and fearless ~100mph 8th setup and closer. Having someone crazy in autumn is simply a cherry on the cake.
This is one of the recent best K-Drama (feels more like a Movie) in Netflix – I don’t remember anything I really enjoyed like this in Netflix in last few years…
Must watch – and your six hours will be gone in a sec
