Malasada & Bakeries: Kauai Bakery
으하하.. 동네 빵가게를 아침부터 관광객이 터는 분위기 연출..-.-; 맛진 빵들 마구 섭취…
Ordering box load of bakeries at local shop at morning and making them wonder “where these guys come from?” was fun… but most of all, tasted great!

Hanapepe … trying to position as cute village but maybe we were too late to visit – all shops were closed when we arrived at 6PM

Salt Pond Beach
Poipu Beach쪽에 비가 좀 내려서 어떻게 할까 하다가 비를 피해 서쪽으로 이동해서 간 Eleele/Hanapepe라는 곳의 Salt Pond Beach.. 애들은 fish를 봤다하니 임무완료… Beach의 주인은 역시 닭들..
Landed at here while journeying to beach where it didn’t rain.. was not a perfect weather for snorkeling but quiet beach and kids said they saw plentiful of fishes so mission accomplished. 🙂
and there were tons of roosters owning the beach..

Spouting Horn
물기둥이 바다에서 용솟음친다… 현무암 바위 해안에 파력 침식으로 바위 밑이 뚤리고 위에 구멍이 있어 파도가 몰아치니 물이 용솟음치면서 소리까지 낸다..

Wailua River State Park: Wailua Falls, Opaekaa Falls, Coco Nut & Rooster
Jurassic World에 애들이 뛰어내리는 장면에서 나오는 폭포 감상 [Jurassic World Falls] ..후와..근데 주차장은 닭들이 점령해있고(이섬의 주인은 닭인듯..ㅎㅎ), 다른 한켠에서는 코코넛을 까서 팔아서 그자리에서 칼로 잘라주는걸 시음.. (사실 회사에서 마실수 있는 Zico랑 사실 맛차이 못느낌..ㅎㅎ)
애들이 부르던 코코넛송이 하루종일 머리속에서 떠다녔다… (It’s not a Coconut Its a Coco Fruit from the Coco Tree of the Coco Palm Family ~~~)
도시이름은 남자들이 많아서인지 Kapa’a ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ (남자는 갑빠 여자는 내숭…ㅎ)
Falls tour of the east shore of the island… (the fall kids jump off at Jurassic World Falls ) and enjoyed fresh Coconut, actually Coco fruit from the coco tree of the coco palm family (Coconut song [The Coconut Song] my little one sings with nuts :))

마적질 제대로 해서 본전 뽑은 거의 첫 케이스라고나 할까… (생각해보니 Orlando에서도 공짜 호텔 한번 자보고 비행기도 공짜로 타기는 했구만…) 사실 내돈주고는 절대 쉽게 못올 좋은 곳인듯싶다.. 그러고 보니 호텔 로비 사진을 못찍었는데 – 밤에 (가족들이 잠든 관계로) 밝고 바람 소리와 은은히 BGM으로 깔려들리는 하와이안 뮤직외에는 아무것도 들리지 않는 호텔로비에 앉아 시원한 바닷바람 맞으며 (문이 없다) 회사 email 확인하며 (아…-.-; ) 사알짝 일하는데.. “아 좋아…-.-“란 말이 무심코 나왔음…

해는 나는데 속속 뿌려대는 비로 쌍무지개 포함 무지개만 몇번은 보고 온것 같다..제일 덜 상업적으로 개발되었다는 이 섬도 교통정체는 피해갈수는 없구려…

Loco Moco at Da Booze Shop
Late but great lunch after tougher-than-expected hike at Waimea. Located in front of James Cook monument.. (Right – this island was “found” by famous Captain James Cook…:))
Interesting & confusing shop name while shop is saying they don’t sell any alcohol after ‘accepting Jesus with hearts’ 🙂 whatever… Loco Moco tasted very fresh and tasty.
생각보다 빡센 Canyon질을 하고 배고파서 무작정 들어간 진짜 동네 가게….맛진 하와이 음식 폭풍 섭취…ㅎㅎ
가게 이름이 “술집”인데 사연인 즉슨 리커샵 인수했다가, 음식도 팔기 시작하다가, 교회 다닌 이후론 술은 아예 안판다고 카운터에 크게 써주셨음..ㅎㅎ (그냥 가게 이름을 바꾸지.. 나같은 가족 데리고 가는 외지인은 의심스런 심정으로 들어갔음….ㅎㅎ)

Waimea Canyon: Waimea Canyon Trail
밖에서도 멋진 Canyon, Canyon 병풍을 안쪽에서 구경하려고 나선 Trail – 비가 내려서 촉촉해진 진토 Trail을 걷느라 이몸이 죽고죽어 백골이 진토가 된다지만 개고생..ㅎㅎ
그래도 영화에서 보는 CG같은 풍경들(Jumanji, Avatar, 등등)을 직접 보며 힘차게 걸었다..ㅎㅎ
Kauai 돌아다니면서 사방에서 보는 길닭들은 Canyon에서도 진치고 있으시면서 ‘이게 힘드냐’하고 쳐다봐 주심..
Fun trail hiking – where hiking was a series of physical challenge (ultra muddy paths, crossing streams, juggling around fallen trees) in a movie scene locations. Kauai’s street chickens or roosters are in the canyon as well.. 🙂
