Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

결국 그 날이 오셨다…잘 쓰던 Note10이 종종 Touch 컨트롤이 먹통이 되기도 하고 무었보다도 Microsoft Teams 로그인이 되다말다여서 어쩔수 없이 교체를 해야할듯해서 사실 출시한지 2년쯤 된 모델을 구해서 4년반을 썼으니 이정도면 내구성은 아주훌륭했다….문제는 더이상 업데이트 지원이 없다는점….

암튼 야심차게 폴더 폰으로 가겠다 맘먹고 찾다보니…가격이 ㅎㄷㄷ…..그냥 계속 노트급으로 써야겠다 했는데 쓰고 있던 노트10+가 마지막버전 전 버전 모델이어서 노트는 더이상 없으니 사촌 뻘되는 S 시리즈 울트라로 바꿔탔다….역시 주머니 사정이 심심하여 최신보다 2년된 그것도 refurbished로….ㅎㅎ 🙂

나름 이제 AI도 붙어있다하니 사알짝 기대도 된다…

After 4.5 good years of intensive use, my good and old Note 10+ started to express its limited remaining life….felt sad but happy to switch to Galaxy S23 Ultra…

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G

Although one and half years old, happen to land this new device 🙂 This was perfect timing as my G8 started to show some fatigue – not being able to get corp emails

Now, state of art screen finger print, seamless Android for Work integration, and getting back the access of Samsung Pay might be few benefits I can see immediately. One challenge remaining is Gallery and Onedrive not syncing well..:(

LG G8이 얼마전부터 시름시름 이상해지기 시작하더니…. – 회사 이메일 수신 불가; 허나 요즘 하루죙일 집에 있는 세상에 이메일로 회사 email보는게 얼마나 효과가 있을까 싶다만- 1.5년정도의 세월을 좀 드신 신삥 노트10+를 구했다. 나름 나의 사용용도로는 첫 노트네… 그 전에 우리 집 대장님과 엄마를 위해 사드린 적은 있음…ㅎㅎㅎ

몇일 써본 결과 몇가지가 인상적인데 – Android for Work가 아주 부드럽게 구현되고 (별도 그룹으로 모아놓음-LG는 그냥 무조건 app list에 같이 때려 넣어서 좀 혼동스러웠음..) 무엇보다도 지문인식을 스크린에서 하는게 생각보다 멋진듯.. 그리고 좀 웃기긴 하지만 LG폰 이전에 Galaxy 8에 삼성페이로 심어놓은 Giftcard들을 다시 access할수 있게 되었다.. (Galaxy 8은 액정이 사망한 관계로 거기에 심어놨던 Giftcard들을 access할 방법이 없었음..ㅎㅎㅎ)

그리고 이건 뒤늦게 바꿘듯한데 폰에서 찍은 사진을 SD로 보내니 One Drive에 올릴 방법이 없는듯하다…-_-;

V10이후로 다시 만난 LG.. 쥐팔아 잘 부탁해… 역시 전화는 새 전화가 쵝오..ㅎㅎ 🙂 단, 은근히 슬쩍 편했던 삼성Pay가 없는게 흠이긴 한데.. 뭐 이제 LG Pay로 바꿔야하나?

이번엔 다행히 똥손임팩트를 피하려 꽁꽁 싸맸다.. 원래는 이런거 진짜 싫어하는디 똥손때문에 팔뿔이 사망시킨 이후로 어쩔수 없이..ㅎㅎ

한편 드는 생각은 요즘 이럴거면 핸드폰 외관 디자인이 뭔 소용있나 싶다.. 그냥 폰 두께만 얇게 하고 쓸데 없이 뒷면에 유리로 하네 뭐로 하네 다 필요 없는듯 싶다.

Back in several years, I have always thought that airplane screens (especially the ones pulled down from overheads and forcing everyone to stare) will go away in future + I didn’t like “central broadcasting” movie distribution at planes. (i.e. you go to restroom then you get lost).. Just realized we are already at the future I thought – distributing movies via inflight WiFi, but this is a bummer for people who don’t have a smartphone & smartphone app. Regardless & whatever, I am thankful 🙂

Anyhow watched the Assassin’s Creed movie – have always thought how the movie will tell the story vs original game series & how the “assassinations” will show up in the movie.. -especially the ones you do at inside of hay.. 🙂

Quick conclusion, this version of movie must have been sponsored by Washington State Apple Commission 🙂

이제 비행기에서 영화를 틀어주지 않아도 알아서 보는 시대가 되었다. Smartphone 및 App이 없는 사람은 영화보지 말라는 이야기이지만 짧은 비행기도 기내 WiFi를 를 통해 쏴지는 영화를 개인 선호대로 비행기 안에서는 아무때나 볼수 있는시대가 되었으니 난 땡큐.. 옛날같으면 영화 틀어주지도 않는 2.5시간 국내선 비행기에서 2시간 조금 안되는 영화를 봤으니 성공이지뭐..

Assassin’s Creed는 뭐랄까 궁금은 한데 돈주고 보긴 아까운 영화였는데 잘 감상.. 내심 볏짚에 숨어있다가 지나가는 적을 assassination하는데 주위 사람은 신기할 정도로 뭔일이 일어난지 모르는 광경이 나올려나 했건만… ㅋㅋㅋ … 사과 타령으로 시작해서 사과로 끝났다..

Awesome new device.. well every new device is awesome anyhow..

Good battery, convenient face recognition (though it doesn’t always work) and big screen and nice curve edge experience.

First Samsung Android device after Exhibit 4G back at 2011(Uh?) 🙂

애지중지하며 쓰던 LG V10이 통화불능 수준까지 이르시는 단계로 운명을 다하셔서… 흑흑… (별로 전화도 안오는데 거는 사람마다 불만들이 높으셔서…) 새로 거금을 들여 장만한 스맛폰… 삼성의 Exhibit 4G 이후로 손으로 들어와 주신 첫 삼성 스마트폰 되시겠음…

(그간 득템했던 삼성 스마트폰들은 주로 선물용이나 wife님께 봉헌해드린 용도였던 관계로..)

배터리 기능좋고 display좋고, 안면인지 홍채인지는 모르겠지만 인식도 편하고 – 단 하나 불편한건 내 주위의 모든 usb plugin들이 micro USB였는데 이게 3.0으로 바뀌어서 ebay에 아답터 대량 주문…-.-;

좋네… 🙂

Finally, my paying-attribute-to-wife arrived.

내가 그닥 좋아하지 않는 과일회사의 아이퐁, but 가정의 평화를 위해 핫핑크색을 조공품으로 공수.. 가정의 평화를 위해 도입한 과일회사 제품도 아이넙적이에 이에 벌써 두번째네… 그냥 나도 다음엔 청과업체걸로 갈까나?

After 2 years and 9 months of Windows phone journey, back to Android – but trying my best effort not to donate everything to evil company though.

Other than one scary blue screen, looks good – had to install a lot of Apps again with scratching my head to bring back memories 🙂 Starbucks, Mint, Office, Nest, Chase – Ah I can do mobile banking again!!!

Phone design looks decent especially

Dual screen experience is better than I thought – pretty useful actually (finding where to set up is hard :))
Pointer finger/backside button control – This was originally tried by Motorola in years before and adopted by LG in recent models, but

존경하지 마다않는 모 형님께서 테스트용으로 하사해주셔서 거의 3년만에 안드로이드로 복귀(?) 했다. 뭐 Win10폰은 정말 훌륭하게 보였지만, 공식 release는 at&t만 나오는 관계로 나랑 상관 없겠구나라고 생각할 때 하사를 받아 전격 이동.. 🙂

정말 아름답게 만든 폰인듯… 듀얼스크린은 – 아무도 기억 못하겠지만 예전에 dual screen display는 있었음 (LG Flip Smartphone)… – 어려운 숙제를 어쨌건 해결해서 제출한 분위기이나 생각보다 괜찮음..

한가지 아쉬운건 카메라 버튼은 있는게 좋지 않을까란 생각을 해봤음…

Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview Review after a week

In quick summary Job well done – Now we are talking about completeness of Phone OS – still question remains on application coverages.

Windows Phone 8.1 had great user friendly features Action Center, Cortana, Calendar got improved dramatically as well as Camera applications.

The only downside I noticed with this upgrade are the breakout of game app. Now all the games which was only accessible via Game app in past are also showing up in app list- which drives me crazy becuase of my kids installing tons of games.

이제 드디어 원도우폰이 8.1업그레이드를 통해 다른 폰들과 동등한 수준의 기본 OS기능들을 정착한듯싶다. 이제 앱만 유치해주심…되는데… ^^

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Finally, bought Galaxy Note 3. Amazing devices, and 30 min of work to set up for my wife made my lovely ATIV S look so tiny and old-fashioned..

Beautifully designed sold square look and fast processer with tons of software loaded into. Feels like some of the softwares are still useless but I do see Samsung’s effort to differentiate the device with lots of nice softwares/applications. (i.e Galaxy to Galaxy migration app worked beautifully smooth..)

Anyhow, the take for me was – now I got a “small android ablet” called Samsung Galaxy 1 in my hand… 🙂

T-Mobile LTE!

Has been noticing LTE mark showing up on my new phone about a week or two ago when the bus passes Factoria in Bellevue, and as the spot was very limited, and obviously looks like there are some handover issues between networks – wasn’t able to connect smoothly and do the real test on how LTE works on phone in running buses.

Finally, had a chance to do the quick test at QFC factoria.. it is much faster than HSPA+… and my new phone gets it well so my fingers are crossed for quick expansion/stablization of LTE network
