사실 난 바느질 정말 못한다… 못하는것도 문제지만 이제는 노안으로 바늘구멍에 실 끼우기도 급급… 그래서 옷에서 단추가 떨어지면 그냥 그 채로 입는게 대부분이었는디… 한 셔츠가 단추가 2개나 그러던 와중에 우연히 혹시나 하고 자동으로 단추를 달아주는 솔루션을 찾다가 Amazon에서 발견한 $18.17짜리 떨어진 단추 묵는 도구되시겠다.

뭐 멋지게 실을 자동으로 하고 이런건 아니고 실리콘은 잠깐 눕히고 바늘과 버튼을 끼워넣으면 뺄때 다시 원형으로 실리콘이 돌아가고 버튼이 고정되는 형태.. – 사람들 정말 머리 좋다..존경을 표한다..ㅎㅎ

결과는 대만족… 한동안 모든 셔츠에 단추가 떨어져있는지 확인해야겠다..ㅎㅎㅎ 그리고 단추 바느질 필요한 사람들 줄서요…ㅎㅎㅎ

Being stupid on attaching buttons with needle with blurry eyes, I tried to avoid any chances of repairing the loose or detached buttons for whole life. Then, I found this after facing a shirt without 2 buttons 🙂

This solution works incredibly easy – simply inserting the silicon based tie with folded form along with button and letting out when needle is pulled out – after one trial and error everything worked so perfect. So now I am looking for any shirts need repair 🙂

Coffee at Amazon Fresh

Coffee ritual of Saturday afternoon at Seattle now expanded into checking out Self-Serve coffee machine at Amazon Fresh.

This made me wonder whether this is the offspring of Whole Foods or Amazon – well at the end it must be left or right pocket of Amazon but I really liked no-need to pull out my credit card and simply present Amazon App’s instore code for payment.

토요일 정오의 시애틀 시내 커피 산책 – 뭐 여기도 커피는 팔지 않을까란 생각에 Amazon Fresh를 들어가봤다. 어차피 아메리카노 먹는데 뭐가 별반 차이 없겠거니 하기도 하고..그렇다면 가격도 착하고 해서 말이다..

한편으론 이게 홀푸드의 연장일까 아마존의 연장일까 싶긴한데… 집객을 위해선 차라리 홀푸드로 브랜드를 하는게 더 좋지 않았을까 싶다.. 물론 온갖 Amazon의 retail store automation/solution showcase라 좋긴하다만 2주 연속으로 비슷한 시간대에 가서 커피하고 크로아쌍 하나 들고 나오는데 뭐 시간대가 한적한 시간이라서 그러겠지만 아직은 직원이 손님보다 많을게 가슴이 아프다..ㅎㅎ (별걱정을 다…) 개인적으로는 구지 지갑 열어서 카드 찾아 꺼내는것보다 그냥 앱으로 결제하니 편한게 제일 좋은 merit인듯..

얼마전에 미국 정부에서 대량살포한 자가 테스트킷… 어느 동네는 한국산을 준다는데 우리집에 온건 아쉽게도 중국산… 우리집 꼬맹이 연주회한다고 학교에서 무조건 이결과를 사진으로 첨부하라고 해서 테스트킷을 처음으로 써봤다… 뭐 테스트 키트 두줄 안나온걸 다행으로 여긴다..

Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier & Pacific Northwest: Heat & Smoke Combo

지난 Amazon Prime Day deal에 그동안 지켜보던 위닉스 공기청정기가 떠서 사놓고 박스채 뜯지도 않고 보관하고 있었다.. (뭐 사실 공기청정기는 평소에는 필요가 없는 동네이긴하니까..)

산불로 인한 smoke로 대기미세먼지가 하늘을 덮는 게 매 여름마다 반복되는구나 싶어서 샀는데 (아마 4년전쯤이 최초였는듯) 올해는 희한하게 별소식없이 지나가나 싶어서 한편 아쉽기 까지도 했었건만 (기것 청정기 사놨더니…..) 결국 그분이 오셨다.. ㅎㅎ

근데 오시면서 혼자 오면 심심하니 화씨로 90도 넘는 -물론 지난 번 Heat Wave보단 덜하지만- 또 하나의 역대급 더위와 함께 오셨다.. 그리고 아니나 다를까 올래면 가오가 있지 싶은지.. 이동네 캐스케이드 삼형제 (벤쿠버-시애틀-포틀랜드) 대략 세계 랭킹 순위군 등극시켜주시고…

암튼 공기 청정기 꺼내서 설치하는데 아주 깔끔… 아주 한국 회사제품이라 그런지 조용하고 좋다…. (주모 여기 국뽕 한사발…) 암튼 다행히 올여름엔 에어콘도 있고, 공기청정기도 있으니 이런 먼지가득한 주말 집안에서 책이나 읽으며 보내야겠다..

Smokes from Wildfire must have thought bypassing three Cascadia brothers (Vancouver-Seattle-Portland) in Summer is a pity thing – so it came to us especially along with another record level heat..

However, :), I am prepared at this year with Air Purifier from Winix 5500-2 (Had known this company’s product thanks to their proven performance with world-class Seoul air pollution) which I purchased from a deal during last Amazon Prime Day.. 😀

(Kept in original box till yesterday, but felt even some happiness to unbox for a good use of it… :D)

Air conditioner, Air purifier, and smoky air outside.. perfect condition for book reading weekend..

DIY: Replacing Ventilation Fan

Maybe about a year ago, wife told me there is a burning smell of plastic at laundry room – and noticed the fan was on for some long period, and the burning smell went away when I turned off the fan. (and placed a tape on the switch not to turn on)

As this was the fan at first floor, getting access directly from the top was not an option, hence studied youtube videos for a long period and multiple times and finally attempted to replace it. This required lots of work – electricity wiring, hammering/screw nailing – as the fan was attached to different direction then intended, dry wall cutting as there was no exact size as old one in the market. Finally, found the fan’s plastic was broken causing the smell after inhaling lots of dust only after I tore down the existing fan. 🙂

After all – maybe saved about $150-$200 labor cost 🙂

오래전부터 가지고 있었던 To-Do list중 하나인 – 돌리면 플라스틱 태우는 냄새를 발산해 주시는 – 망가진 세탁실의 환풍기를 교체했다…(사실 세탁실에 환풍기가 그닥 꼭 필요하지는 않아서 미루고미루고 미루던 일…)

흐… 전기에, 벽에 흑.. 물론 youtube에선 쉽게 하는데 항상 그렇듯 내가 할려고 하면 – 특히 이렇게 오래된 설비는- 아무리 공부하고 미리 준비를 해놔도 결국은 실행 단계에서는 응용을 해야한다는게 스릴 넘치는 순간들….

덕분에 공임 대충 150-200불 아끼고 또 하나의 설비에 대해 배웠다.. -.-;

Back in several years, I have always thought that airplane screens (especially the ones pulled down from overheads and forcing everyone to stare) will go away in future + I didn’t like “central broadcasting” movie distribution at planes. (i.e. you go to restroom then you get lost).. Just realized we are already at the future I thought – distributing movies via inflight WiFi, but this is a bummer for people who don’t have a smartphone & smartphone app. Regardless & whatever, I am thankful 🙂

Anyhow watched the Assassin’s Creed movie – have always thought how the movie will tell the story vs original game series & how the “assassinations” will show up in the movie.. -especially the ones you do at inside of hay.. 🙂

Quick conclusion, this version of movie must have been sponsored by Washington State Apple Commission 🙂

이제 비행기에서 영화를 틀어주지 않아도 알아서 보는 시대가 되었다. Smartphone 및 App이 없는 사람은 영화보지 말라는 이야기이지만 짧은 비행기도 기내 WiFi를 를 통해 쏴지는 영화를 개인 선호대로 비행기 안에서는 아무때나 볼수 있는시대가 되었으니 난 땡큐.. 옛날같으면 영화 틀어주지도 않는 2.5시간 국내선 비행기에서 2시간 조금 안되는 영화를 봤으니 성공이지뭐..

Assassin’s Creed는 뭐랄까 궁금은 한데 돈주고 보긴 아까운 영화였는데 잘 감상.. 내심 볏짚에 숨어있다가 지나가는 적을 assassination하는데 주위 사람은 신기할 정도로 뭔일이 일어난지 모르는 광경이 나올려나 했건만… ㅋㅋㅋ …  사과 타령으로 시작해서 사과로 끝났다..

Windows 10 Creators Update

Finally, updated my work pc to Win10 creators update and the biggest feature or  surprise/benefit whatever you will say for me was the reduced size of operating system..

새로운 버전의 Windows 10이 나왔다고 update하라고 안내메일들이 돌기 시작해서 update후 3일째 쓰고 있는 중…. 써보니 이런저런 새로운 기능들 (Settings가 많이 좋아졌고… Edge도 뭔가 이것저것 많이 손댔고 하는데…) 가장 머리에 팍 박히는 건 용량이 팍 줄었다는 점.. update전에 update를 install할 hard disk space가 없다고 경고를 하도 해서 백업하고 지우고 해서 대충 25GB로 free space를 만들어놨는데 update하고 이전 버전 windows를 삭제하고 free space를 측정해보니 37.4GB- 자그마치 13GB를 돌려줬다…뜨아~ 🙂

Forza Horizon 3: Blizzard Mountain

Forza Horizon series has been the game I have always played the expansion packs, and great expansion from Forza Horizon 3 came out during this holiday season. Similar to previous versions did not, this one did not disappoint me.. Great fun!

많은 게임들이 expansion pack/DLC들이 있지만 그 중에 유일하게 꼬박꼬박 다 사준 Forza Horizon 시리즈… 역시 기대를 저버리지 않는 Forza Horizon 3의 expansion 첫 번째판 Blizzard Mountain – 역시나 죽이는 경치에 멋진차로 게다가 좋아하는 눈밭위에서 차로 춤을 추고 다닌다..

아주 꿀잼..게다가 요 몇일 실제로 눈밭위를 운전하고 다녔으니…ㅎㅎㅎ

귀하디 귀하다 한 품절 났다는 흰색 에코닷 혹은 에코돗.. 🙂  이번 연말의 득템 혹은 또다른 아마존의 침투 제품 되시겠다..

Happen to have the precious Echo Dot “”White”” as a year end new item at my home. This is mostly used as kid’s music player at this moment, and piling up ridiculous items in Alexa’s shopping list (e.g. ham, bacon..) all input from my kids.

To be honest, my cheap hearing capabilities of my ear tells me the speaker is not inferior to the “Tower” Echo.. still works great for me..Another invasion of Amazon to my home..
