Chase Sapphire Lounge at Boston Logan Airport

아무래도 더이상은 Chase Sapphire Reserve를 유지하긴 힘들지 않을까 생각하던 와중 미전국에 몇개 없는 Chase Sapphire Lounge 가 Boston에 있기에 들려서 당연히 만석이라 좀 기다리다 입장해서 엄청 먹어주셨다…

사실 점심도 못먹었고 비행출발시간이 늦은 오후라 저녁먹을 시간도 마땅치 않아 뭔가를 구겨 넣어야하는 상황..:) overprice돤 공항 음식은 먹기 싫은데라고 생각하던 중 Lounge발견..

부페는 너무멀어서 그냥 먼 자리에 앉았더니 주문하는 방식도 있어 버거에 이상한 국적불명의 비빔국수도 하나 시켰고 무알콜 맥주도 있어서 시켜봤다….

국수는 좀 낯선 food experience였지만, 전반적으로 공항 Lounge에서 먹어본 음식들 중 제일 고퀄 음식이 되었다…

공짜 좋아하다 대머리가 되어도 다음에도 꼭 미리 시간내서 꼭 들려야겠다…ㅎㅎ

Had a wonderful experience, although crowded and gone theu waitlisting (getting waitlisted is still sensitive experience for me after going thru my son’s college admission process 🙂 )at Boston Airport’s Chase Sapphire Lounge…maybe the best airport food I had was served during my visit

Back to the city

쉽게 떠나지 못하고 결국 작은분 선풍기 사들고 다시  Lenox에 들려 drop하고 거진  full로 Mass Pike를 달려공항으로…

폭염으로 100도는 우습게 찍어대는 와중에 freeway에선 대형 사고가 나서 30분쯤 서있다가 갔다…덥고 졸리고 화장실 가고 싶고의 삼중고를 버티다 그리고 휴게소에선 나름 스타벅스의 고장에선 볼 수없는 향토 식품인 던킨 커피 한잔….

At the end, my original plan of lazy morning at Speingfield failed after getting outcrying text request from son for table fan. 🙂 so drove all the way back to Tanglewood after picking up one fan then finally drove back to Boston.

Amherst College & Amherst, MA

물론 Boston자체도 대학촌으로 먹고 살기는 하지만 🙂 또다른 대학촌인 Amherst에 들렸다. 90F+ 폭염주의보 속에서, 전미 #2 Liberal Arts College인 Amherst College도 한번 둘러보고 제일 유명해 보이는 피자가게에 가서 먹어 주셨다.

한편 역시 Carrier가 에어콘 기술을 개발한 데에는 미국 동부의 살인적인 여름 날씨에서의 필요가 크다는 걸 새삼…ㅎㅎ

Part of reason we took detouring around rural Mass was to check out Amherst and Amherst College – loved the small school vibe and settings and enjoyed the pizza at Amherst city center

Plus steaming heat reminded me that any innovation is driven by strong needs for that 🙂 Thank you Eastcoast weather and Mr. Carrier.

Fromage Croissant Sandwich from Panera

같은날 하게된 결국은 호구놀이 2탄…ㅋㅋ Panera 크로아상 토스트 샌드위치…뭐 토스트가 맛지긴 하나 먹으면서 이걸로 프리미엄은 요구하는건 에바아닌가란 생각… 결국은 그냥 내가 호구가 된걸로…ㅋㅋ

광고에선 장난스럽게 French 액센트강한 This reminds me Paris하는데 난 그냥 This reminds me St. Louis Bread Company.. 🙂

Another exploration on new food menu was Panera’s Croissant Sandwich- not bad but I don’t think I want to pay a premium for this 🙂

Latte from Coffeeholic House

오랜만에  Bellevue Downtown에 아침에 거닐 기회가 있어 예전부터 맛보고 싶었던 커피를 맛봤다…세상에 아무리 미국이라해도 5시 가게 마감은 너무한거 아니냐고….게다가 아시안/베트님식 커피를 하는 가게가….

암튼 뭐 메뉴를 잘 모르고 고른 이유도 있겠다만 커피 용기가 가장 인상적이었던 걸로….역시 아무래도 요즘 아시안이라고 하는 가게들은 거품이, 정도의 차이는 있겠지만, 어느 정도 들어가있다는 느낌이다

Finally was able to checkout Coffeeholic House in Bellevue thanks to the opportunity to dwell around downtown Bellevue in the morning.

Maybe I chose the wrong menu but the most impressive thing was the take out cup and clearly anything Asian today are sitting on the premium bubble in somewhat degree 🙂

Driving Detroit Area & Zingermann’s

나름 이번 출장에서 혼자 재미 있었던건 한동안 잊고 살던 길이름 혹은 동네 이름들을 마주치는 것이었다….Woodward Telegraph Grand River … 수십년전에 그냥 지나간 길 이름들이 오랜만이야 하고 말걸어오는듯…. 익숙하지 않은 동네에서 기억에 의존해 길을 다니는 재미(?)도 좋았다…

인간은 추억을 먹고산다는 말이 맞는듯…

그래도 고픈배와 출장비로 먹을수 있는 마지막 한끼를 위해 공항가는 길에 방앗간촌에 들려 Zingermann’s의 맛좋은 루벤 샌드위치 하나 순삭하고 다시 공항으로 향했다…

One good memory lane experience of this business trip was encountering the random but familiar street names and town names which I have encountered decades ago…

Road names like Telegraph Woodward Grand River felt like roads were waving to me 🙂

Yes humans live from the past memories…so drove to Ann Arbor to fill my stomach with real memory food from Zingermann’s on the way to airport
