Main reason of this outrageous travel was actually a business meeting at Brazil ๐ and I took my first step into southern hemisphere in my life…
Few things I realized
– Premium Economy actually is great – well might not be compared to business which lays flat – but still had a comfortable trip
– South America is definitely South but at the same time it is more eastern than North America so it took long hours to get there and that might be the reason why all major airports to South America in US is primarily at Central or East
– Also, North-South Redeye is less painful than West-to-East Redeye – West-to-East Redeye takes the benefit of time difference (short flight time and land at morning) so giving extra pain to travelers by “stealing sleep time” while North-South Red-eye have to be designed that way mainly because of absolute distance.
Anyhow after comfortable long sleep, landed at GRU which is the code carved in my head during my times at Oracle’s OCI… ๐
I tried to be a good employee so took the cheapest option of flights and that action gave me 7 hours of transit time at DFW ๐ so I wondered what to do…
After a quick wondering, decided to take an Uber to nearby Dallas K-Town and got the Naju soup I was craving and came back to DFW. After return, I realized I still have tons of time so tried to get every possible free benefits of Priority Pass ๐
Took one-hour nap at mini hotel in terminal, took 25 min of machine massage, and even grabbed a coffee and drink at DFW club ๐
Took the first flight from Seattle to fly to Dallas ๐ – and this touched my memory lane of travelling to Dallas with AA during the days I worked for T-Mobile…
This place has connection with my personal histories….
In the old days when I was working for T-Mobile, we always asked the leadership to consider sponsoring baseball or MLB and even asked why not purchasing the naming rights of ‘Safeco Field’ – home of Seattle Mariners which is 10 min drive from T-Mobile US’ HQ.
After almost a two decade, both happened although I left for other business ๐ and this summer I had the fortune to visit this “T-Mobile Park” to pick up my son and his friends ๐
Also, near the home plate entrance now there is a statue of KGJ who visited this field for the first time at the week we moved to Seattle ๐ – and old Seattle baseball fans still believe this new ballpark is a gift from KGJ ๐
Finally had the first camp visit as a parent on Boy Scout camping ๐ and was a good break from the normal days in life at historical Boy Scout camping site.
After 4.5 good years of intensive use, my good and old Note 10+ started to express its limited remaining life….felt sad but happy to switch to Galaxy S23 Ultra…
Finally we received the official documents in paper and A graduated successfully from Interlake High school. After the long journey of nationwide 20+ college applications with handfull tears and joys, A decided to go down to LA.
Thank you USC and few others for believing A’s potential and middle-finger you terrible schools who turned down on him ๐
This was truly a journey even for the families as well as student himself and hope everything turn out positively from now โค๏ธ
After going thru all these emotional roller coaster ride, I am realizing there were tons of emotional or any oyher supports we got as a family. So my humble thanks to all who cared and cheered for Andrew durung the journey. Everyone is happy except my wallet and savings ๐
