During my stay at Detroit, had a chance to drive around the city with Jeep Compass Trailhawk..
As a Compass Limited driver I have always wondered the difference between these two, but not much difference…Next time I will pickup Trailhawk which has slightly better beauty…
A bit irritating repairs were looped all and knocked out with one visit to dealer… tire losing air (but not depleting though) and vehicle having trouble in recognizing my keyfob…
Is my vehicle too American or myself behaving too much American? π
After having a dinner with my buddy’s son who are attending Cornell, we had to leave to east to finish the last major driving of this trip π There has been lot of questions and debates on which route is better for anyone who needs to go east from Ithaca whether to go with I-81/I-90 via Syracuse after shorter local roads or I-88 after longer drive of local roads – The main point of discussions were the safety -especially at night- and road conditions as two route only have 15-30min difference.
After quick thought, I decided to take I-88 with the idea that it will be okay if I can reach I-88 before the sunset π and it was a success although the local roads were slightly slippery and had New York State Patrol following me for any opportunity(?) for speeding at local roads π
Anyhow I ended up enjoying the drive in dark in the middle of nowhere/mountains in I-88, and successfully merged into I-90/Thruway at Albany and continued to east via NY Thruway and Mass Pike which was full force construction mode π -maybe 1/3 of Mass Pike drive was on reduced lanes due to midnight constructions.
After losing soul during the rides and getting sun-burnt on all arms and faces, drove to northwest to Syracuse, NY. (and believe paid countless tolls in Mass Spike and NY Thruway π )
Happen to find Dave’s hot chicken and it was great although it taught me the lesson that hot chicken without Korean sauce is an insult to hot chicken π
The Skyler hotel in Syracuse was a kind of experience of 1800’s old building renovated to hotel π very comfortable hotel except cracking sounds from the floor π
Finally one week of consecutive snow piling has stopped. As a citizen living near the border of city limit and small uphill parts of this city, I am sick of seeing city’s support only arriving after all things are already cleared…clearly their Priority is not matching the amount of needs citizen’s needs in each neighborhood.
Thanks to our new Gonnie I enjoyed the snow driving with 4WD for a week π
