Closure of US Cyworld – Another 탱자 Story (橘化爲枳)

Another not-prepared but just planted business model declared end of life…
Also confirms that consumer faced Internet business is a cultural business..

나름 internet과 관련된 일을 해보고 싶어서 처음에 cyworld가 미국에 나온다고 했을 때부터 나름 유심히 지켜보면서 나름 걱정아닌 걱정을 사서 했지만.. 결국 우려하던 사태가 벌어졌다…
과연 해외진출한다는 의지만 높았지 제대로 시장 조사, 고객 조사나 해보고 시작했는지 의심스럽다.. 결국 귤나무 심어 먹지도 못하고 접는 탱자만 본 꼴이 되어 버렸다..쩌비..

그리고..한편 google이 한국에서 고전한다는 “통쾌성” 신문 기사는 인터넷에서 많이 봤는데 cyworld가 미국에서 서비스를 중단한다는 것에 관한 기사는 아직까지는 하나도 못봤다…

암튼, 아시아에서 한국처럼 미국 영향을 많이 받은 나라가 또 있겠냐 하는 생각도 들지만 한편 둘은 공유하는 것도 많지만 참 다르다…

나름 개인적으로는 한국 Internet/IT 기업들이 미국에서 많이들 성공해서 나중에 내가 일해볼 기회도 만들어 주길 바랬건만… 하나 같이 어이 없이들 무너지고 있다…아 슬퍼라…. =.=;

한편 “윤군의 저주”는 무서울 정도로 계속되고 있다.. -_-;

무한도전 New York편과 관련된 논란들..

무한도전은 몇 안되는 내 일상의 낙 중 하나이다..

근데 사실 이번편을 보면서 많은 생각을 했다… 뭐 정준하가 세프한테 대들었네 막굴었네 마네 그건 인간 됨됨이가 그러네 마네 했다 치고.. 뉴스에 논란이 되고 있는 타블로의 형이 쓴 글과 관련되어서에 국한한다면 나 또한 뉴욕 길거리 장면들을 보면서 타블로의 형과 같은 비슷한 생각을 했다..

솔직히 그냥 웃고 넘기긴 했지만.. -사실 그렇게 “노력”했지만- 너무나 적나라한 현실에 상당히 불편했다..

어렸을 적 살던거 제외하고…이제 머리에 철들고 미국에서 지내본게 만 5년 째, 나 또한 Open mind로 하려고 노력하지만, 미국 사람과 5분만 이야기 해보면 대충 이 양반이 -물론 나의 버벅대는 영어탓도 크겠지만- 나 혹은 동양사람 혹은 한국 사람을 어떻게 보는지 파악이 된다..

혹시, 무한도전 제작팀이 유머와 재미 보다는 “우리가 그리 소중하게 생각하는 한국/한국문화/한국인의 자존심 혹은 우수성의 해외판 현주소를 까발리고자” 논란을 일으키는게 주 편집의도였다면 정말 경의를 표하고 싶다.. 정말 아주 정확하게 눈물나게 까발려주셨다…

영어 못하는 사람을 개 쳐다보듯 하는 사람들과, Excuse Me란 말에 전혀 Sorry하지 않은 표정으로 한 Sorry란 짧은 말 한마디로 지나가는 사람을 볼 때, 적어도 이 나라에서 내가 차별당하는 구나 라고 한 번이라도 생각해본사람은 나처럼 피가 끌었을 께다…

잠시 방문하고 가는 사람이야 1회성으로 그치겠지만, 여기서 애써 극복하며 남아 사는 사람들 입장에서는 적어도 최소 방송에 나온 몇 명의 사람들에게 그런 부정적인 이미지를 주거나 그런 이미지를 “확인사살”했다는 건 정말 열심히 사는 사람들에 등에 칼 꽂는 “역주행”이다..

그래서, 한편으론 외국 생활을 많이 해봐서 이런 현실을 알고 있을법한 타블로 형의 분노가 구구절절 이해된다.. 얼마전 박찬호 선수의 인터뷰 내용중 “본인은 어딜가도 이름보다는 Korean이라고 불린다”는 이야기도 이와 일맥상통한 이야기이다..

적어도 이 나라에서 100% 현지 발음이 아닌 영어와 노란 얼굴 실눈에 Korean이라고 불리고 혹은 단정지어지고 사는 건 상당히 “어려운” 일이다..

IPod정리

어제 무슨 필이 받았는지 너저분하게 방치되어 있던 아이팟 iPod IDtag를 정리하느라 거의 날밤을 샜다. (다 하지도 못할 껄 왜시작했을 꼬…–;)

오랜만에 옛날에 많이 들었던 음악들도 들어 좋기도 했지만… 아 졸려라

바쁘다는 일상의 이유로 안하고 지내는소소한 일들이 얼마나 많은지 새삼 깨달아 주셨다.

The Departed

이왕 Remake보는 김에.. 이걸 발견했다.. The Departed

이건 내가 한국에서 참 재미있게 봤던 홍콩 영화 무간도 (Infernal Affairs)를 remake한건데… 훨씬!! 잘 만들었다.. 물론 Hong Kong친구는 실망이다라고 했지만 난 좋기만 하더라..

홍콩이 보스턴으로 바뀌었고, 아무래도 Matt Damon, Rionardo Di Caprio, Jack Nicoleson 출연진이 좋은것도 한 역할 했겠지만 (vs. My Sassy Girl) 암튼…

재미있는 영화.. 큰 기대까진 아니지만 그냥 무난히 봐줄 만한듯…

Talking about a ‘Hollywood remake’ here is another one The Departed. Original story was premiered with name of ‘Infernal Affairs’ from Hong Kong.. Maybe the good example of remake? – still lots of details are a bit lost but good enough.. maybe the missing pieces were all filled nicely with great actors..

나름 애국하는 (-_-) 마음에 – CJ Entertainment가 이돈을 먹겠지- 이걸 eBay에서 주문해서 사서 봤다…

내 여자친구를 소개합니다 의 Hollywood remake…

Story는 모두 같은데… 배경은 New York 의 미국 couple이야기로 바꿨는데…

뭔가 많이 허전하다.. 이게 정서의 차이인가.. 아니면 기대가 높아서 일까? 씁쓸하네… ^^

하긴 원판이 성공한건..내용이 끝내줬다기 보다는 배우들의 소화력이 높지 않았나 싶다..

Wow an Hollywood remake of one of the most successful movie- so I tried to get a taste of this. Same story but based on New York City – but felt something is missing. Don’t know where it is coming from (cultural difference or high expectations, or ‘level’ difference of starring actors?)

그룹 거북이의 리더 터틀맨이 사망했단다.. 아 된장된장…슬퍼슬퍼.. 흑흑.. 아웃사이더의 성공신화를 내 이야기처럼 좋아하는 나로썬 충격적인 일이 아닐 수 없다..

아깝다.. 언젠가 언더그라운드에서 자란 거북이가 철저하게 기획사의 기획으로 뜬 아이돌 혹은 30대가 되서도 아직도 아이돌 이미지로만 먹고사는 가수들을 무찌를 그 날이 오길 바랬건만..

흑..글고 보니 어여 4월 석사 가방끈단지 거의 1년이 다되어가는군..
