IPod정리

어제 무슨 필이 받았는지 너저분하게 방치되어 있던 아이팟 iPod IDtag를 정리하느라 거의 날밤을 샜다. (다 하지도 못할 껄 왜시작했을 꼬…–;)

오랜만에 옛날에 많이 들었던 음악들도 들어 좋기도 했지만… 아 졸려라

바쁘다는 일상의 이유로 안하고 지내는소소한 일들이 얼마나 많은지 새삼 깨달아 주셨다.

이왕 Remake보는 김에.. 이걸 발견했다.. The Departed

이건 내가 한국에서 참 재미있게 봤던 홍콩 영화 무간도 (Infernal Affairs)를 remake한건데… 훨씬!! 잘 만들었다.. 물론 Hong Kong친구는 실망이다라고 했지만 난 좋기만 하더라..

홍콩이 보스턴으로 바뀌었고, 아무래도 Matt Damon, Rionardo Di Caprio, Jack Nicoleson 출연진이 좋은것도 한 역할 했겠지만 (vs. My Sassy Girl) 암튼…

재미있는 영화.. 큰 기대까진 아니지만 그냥 무난히 봐줄 만한듯…

Talking about a ‘Hollywood remake’ here is another one The Departed. Original story was premiered with name of ‘Infernal Affairs’ from Hong Kong.. Maybe the good example of remake? – still lots of details are a bit lost but good enough.. maybe the missing pieces were all filled nicely with great actors..

나름 애국하는 (-_-) 마음에 – CJ Entertainment가 이돈을 먹겠지- 이걸 eBay에서 주문해서 사서 봤다…

내 여자친구를 소개합니다 의 Hollywood remake…

Story는 모두 같은데… 배경은 New York 의 미국 couple이야기로 바꿨는데…

뭔가 많이 허전하다.. 이게 정서의 차이인가.. 아니면 기대가 높아서 일까? 씁쓸하네… ^^

하긴 원판이 성공한건..내용이 끝내줬다기 보다는 배우들의 소화력이 높지 않았나 싶다..

Wow an Hollywood remake of one of the most successful movie- so I tried to get a taste of this. Same story but based on New York City – but felt something is missing. Don’t know where it is coming from (cultural difference or high expectations, or ‘level’ difference of starring actors?)

그룹 거북이의 리더 터틀맨이 사망했단다.. 아 된장된장…슬퍼슬퍼.. 흑흑.. 아웃사이더의 성공신화를 내 이야기처럼 좋아하는 나로썬 충격적인 일이 아닐 수 없다..

아깝다.. 언젠가 언더그라운드에서 자란 거북이가 철저하게 기획사의 기획으로 뜬 아이돌 혹은 30대가 되서도 아직도 아이돌 이미지로만 먹고사는 가수들을 무찌를 그 날이 오길 바랬건만..

흑..글고 보니 어여 4월 석사 가방끈단지 거의 1년이 다되어가는군..

Earthquake

Small quake jolts south Santa Clara County

South Santa Clara County residents greeted the morning with a jolt, a small 4.7-magnitude earthquake centered six miles east of San Martin.
The shock, which hit at 5:24 a.m., lasted a few seconds and was felt as far south as King City and as far north as the Golden Gate Bridge, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Since then, there have been at least six small aftershocks, the largest registering 2.5 magnitude, that probably went unnoticed by most.
“If people are in a quiet Location free of vibration and noise they can feel something smaller,” said John Bellini, a geophysicist with the USGS in Golden Colorado.

Police in nearby Morgan Hill say there have been no reports of injuries or damage.

‘고독한 도전자’ 최향남(35·클리블랜드)이 메이저리거의 꿈을 안고 태평양을 건넌 지 두 달이 됐다.
적지 않은 나이에 말도 안 통하고 아는 사람 하나 없는 미국 생활. 다사다난했던 한국에서의 야구 인생처럼 빅리그 도전기 역시 파란만장하다.
생활의 중심은 오직 야구. 차도 없고 전화기도 없다. 숙소는 다운타운의 싸구려 호텔.
트리플 A 버펄로에서 뛰고 있는 최향남은 21일 리치먼드와의 홈경기에서 홀드를 하나 추가해 5경기에서 2홀드 평균 자책 2.08의 좋은 성적을 기록 중이다. ‘중년’ 빅리거 지망생 최향남의 좌충우돌 마이너리그 생활을 소개한다.
▽아, 콩글리시여=5경기 중 유일한 실점을 기록했던 14일 노퍽전. 그는 이날 2와 3분의 2이닝에 4안타 2실점을 기록했다. 점수를 준 사연이 재미있다.
그는 처음 두 이닝을 무리 없이 막았다. 그런데 전력 피칭을 하다 보니 힘이 떨어졌다. 8회 투수 코치가 올라와서 “더 던질 수 있겠느냐”고 물었다. 영어를 못하는 그는 순간 말문이 막혔다. 문득 생각난 말이 “No power”였다. 더는 힘이 없다는 뜻.  

그런데 코치는 “그렇다면 잘 던지라”고 하고 마운드를 내려가더란다. 그 회에 최향남은 3연속 안타와 볼넷을 내주며 2실점했다.

나중에 알고 보니 코치는 최향남의 말을 “No problem(문제없다)”으로 알아들었다. 이후 최향남은 동료들에게 ‘문제없는 사나이(No problem man)’로 불리고 있다.

▽인생 최고의 김치=미국에 온 뒤 김치 생각이 전혀 나지 않았다. 플로리다 캠프부터 두 달 가까이 김치 없이 살았다. 그동안은 주로 햄버거로 식사를 때웠다. 이상하게 느끼하지도 않았다.

그러던 지난 주 홈경기 때 뉴욕에서 응원 온 한 교포 청년이 김치와 햇반을 전해 줬다. 그날 호텔방으로 돌아온 최향남은 혼자서 김치와 김 등 반찬 두 개를 놓고 한국식 식사를 했다. 최향남은 “정말 맛있었다. 내 인생 최고의 식사였다”고 말했다.

▽이놈의 인기는 못 말려=말은 안 통해도 미국 선수들과의 관계는 좋다. 특히 빅리그에서 내려온 선수들은 최향남을 잘 챙겨 준다. 최향남은 “나이는 내가 많지만 벌써 7명의 미국 선수들에게 밥을 얻어먹었다”고 했다.

최향남은 “지금 생활에 만족한다. 여기서 정말 많은 것을 배우고 있다. 빅리그 승격에 대해선 전혀 조급하지 않다”고 말한다.

땀과 눈물의 마이너리그 생활. 그러나 최향남에겐 하루하루가 즐겁다. 항상 말해 왔듯 “내가 정말로 원하는 것을 하고 있기 때문”이다.

내가 정말로 원하는 것을 하고 있다. 이말 참 행복한 말이다..

야구선수가 35세에 그것도 Major도 아니고 Minor로 말도 안통하는 곳으로 간다는 결정은 참 쉽지 않은 결정인것 같다. 것도 가족도 없이 홀로 이억만리의 땅에…. 사실 Major무대에 서기란 정말 쉽지 않은 일인데…

(물론 지금은 하고싶은걸 하고 있는 양반이지만, Minor로 내려갔다고 차라리 편하게 살겠노라라고 한국 돌아온 양반도 있었다..)

성공의 여부를 떠나서, 정말 하고 싶은 것을 위해 도전하는 훌륭한 선수다.. 많은 생각을 주는 선수다..

나도 어여 최향남처럼 화려하지 않아도 하고 싶은일을 하며 살 수 있음 정말 좋겠다…

MBA1년 학교생활의 끝을 바라보며…
