Alaska 1788: Seattle to Los Angeles

Thought the Eskimo Smile would be bringing me down but found out it was Red Sir Richard Branson 🙂

At the end this happen to be the first time of flying in Virgin America almost after 10 years since last time – believe I took Virgin once when it launched in Seattle, and also believe this might be highly likely the last red flight I might take as they are about to be rebranded as Alaska.. 🙂 Gonna miss the great entertainment system, fun & hipster safety video performance, and purple/blue neon lights in cabin.

엥 Alaska인줄 알고 예약했는데 공항에 와보니 Virgin이네…Virgin이 Seattle에 처음 취항했을 때 타본게 마지막이니 대략 10년만인듯.. 비행기는 이제 많이 낡았지만 훌륭한 -미국 국내선에선 볼수 없는- 훌륭한 엔터테인먼트 시스템, 눈을 뗄수 없는 안전시연 비디오, 화려한 형광색 조명도 이제는 역사의 뒤안길로 사라질듯 싶다.

Alaska나 Virgin이나 저가항공은 아니지만 저가항공의 Operation 교과서와 같은 단일 기종 비행사인데.. Alaska는 Boeing 737, Virgin은 전부 Airbus 320. 꿀꺽한 회사의 정책을 따라가는 M&A를 볼때 Virgin의 흔적들은 조만간 다 사라질듯… 아 MBA 전략 수업시간에 배운 Southwest case는 첫수업이어서 아직도 생생하다.. 🙂

갑작스레 출장이 잡혀 지난주 주중에 2박일정으로 LA에 다녀왔다. (그렇게 보내달라고 할때는 안보내줘서 지난달에 내돈 들여갔다왔더니..ㅎㅎ…) 비행기 위에서 산불로 뿌예진 동네 (Seattle의 비 좀 가져다 주려면 좋으련만…)도 보이고, 다운타운 위를 지나 LAX공항 도착.

근 10년만에 LAX 공항에 비행기 타고 온것 같다…

Back in several years, I have always thought that airplane screens (especially the ones pulled down from overheads and forcing everyone to stare) will go away in future + I didn’t like “central broadcasting” movie distribution at planes. (i.e. you go to restroom then you get lost).. Just realized we are already at the future I thought – distributing movies via inflight WiFi, but this is a bummer for people who don’t have a smartphone & smartphone app. Regardless & whatever, I am thankful 🙂

Anyhow watched the Assassin’s Creed movie – have always thought how the movie will tell the story vs original game series & how the “assassinations” will show up in the movie.. -especially the ones you do at inside of hay.. 🙂

Quick conclusion, this version of movie must have been sponsored by Washington State Apple Commission 🙂

이제 비행기에서 영화를 틀어주지 않아도 알아서 보는 시대가 되었다. Smartphone 및 App이 없는 사람은 영화보지 말라는 이야기이지만 짧은 비행기도 기내 WiFi를 를 통해 쏴지는 영화를 개인 선호대로 비행기 안에서는 아무때나 볼수 있는시대가 되었으니 난 땡큐.. 옛날같으면 영화 틀어주지도 않는 2.5시간 국내선 비행기에서 2시간 조금 안되는 영화를 봤으니 성공이지뭐..

Assassin’s Creed는 뭐랄까 궁금은 한데 돈주고 보긴 아까운 영화였는데 잘 감상.. 내심 볏짚에 숨어있다가 지나가는 적을 assassination하는데 주위 사람은 신기할 정도로 뭔일이 일어난지 모르는 광경이 나올려나 했건만… ㅋㅋㅋ …  사과 타령으로 시작해서 사과로 끝났다..
