American 98: Chicago O’Hare to London Heathrow

Main reason to stop at Chicago was actually to get into London to Paris…and round trip ticket was only available to me from British Airways 🙂

So 8 hours of flight mainly crossing over Canada threw me to London. Hello UK and London – has been a while indeed:)

Chicago에서 8시간 푹자면서 갔더니 어느새 London이었다. 물론 Marvel의 next 먹거리 창출을 위해 애쓰는걸 지켜보려고 Thunderbolt를 보려고 애를 썼것만 결국 다 못보고 쓰러져 잤다…

사실 Transit time이 2시간도 채 되지 않아서 걱정이 많았는데 London도착이 예정보다 빨라져서 나름 약간의 여유를 가지고 빡쎈걸로 유명한 Heathrow tranfer를 체험하게 되었다… (정말이지 worldclass 규모로 온갖 세상 다양한 사람들 다 모아놓은듯한 큰 공항이다…)

Nuts on Clark at O’Hare Terminal 5

나의 최애 Chicago thing인 Nuts on Clark…밤늦은 시간에 오니 자판기밖에 없었고 내가 제일 좋아했건 설탕발린 넛은 팔지도 않는다….아쉽…

One of my favorite Chicagoland thing was only available via vending machine when arrived at night and didn’t even have my favorites of sugar coated nuts…:(

Willis Tower Skydeck

대충 40여년전 시골마을에 살던 꼬맹이가 엄마아빠 손잡고 올라왔던 Tower – 기억은 검정색 높은 빌딩에 올라가서 사람들이 개미보다도 작게 보였다고 함 -이젠 그 꼬맹이가 꼬맹이의 꼬맹이군과 그친구를 끌고 올라왔다….ㅎㅎ

Driving thru Chicago

공항 밖을 나오니 Midwest의 습윤한 공기가 airconditioning의 중요성을 다시 깨우쳐 주며 10년만에 운전하는 Chicago Downtown 조심조심운전하며 Michigan으로 향했다..

옛날에 아주 옛날 Seattle에 사시던 분 만나서 Bellevue Kirkland Bothel등등의 지명과 freeway가 어떤지 이야기했는데 그분들의 물개박수가 잘 이해가 안되었건만 이 동네 지명들을 보고 freeway간판들을 보니 나도 물개박수 치면서 운전하고 있었다가 I-94를 보는 순간 찌릿한 감흥..

Sceneries and freeways also brought me back to the memory lane 🙂
