일주일간 기사 생활하는데 발이 되어준 Toyota RAV4 리턴하는날 혹시나 해서 Rental 기록을 살펴보는데 무서운건 Gas가 얼마 있는지도 알려준다… 다 안채우고 리턴하면 바로 보고될 각.. 꼭 채워서 돌려줬다..ㅎㅎㅎ

Drove RAV4 nicely -Last time I think I drove RAV4 is like 2000 at San Francisco 🙂 SUV is always best when driving in unfamiliar town & streets. Checking the rental record at day of return – amazed that they even tracked the level of fuel!

Downtown & Bishop Arts District

뭐 주로 기사의 삶이었지만 덕분에 Dallas시내와 주위를 아침 저녁으로 보는 호강도 좀 해주셨다.

Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas

옛날 T-Mobile시절 제일 많이 출장왔던 곳이 Dallas임에도 불구하고 사무실이 있던 Frisco, 대리점주들 만나러 혹은 대리점 매장 방문한곳 몇군데 외엔 어디도 가본적이 없었다..

게다가 공항과 사무실에서 멀었던 Dallas시내는 NBA 공짜표가 있다고 해서 가본 American Airline Center, 1주일간 호텔에 갇혀서 보낸 Reunion Center (같은 complex에 탑도 있는데 그것도 못가봤다…)만 가본 슬픈 현실… 주로 공항-호텔-업무만 하다 와서 밤에 한식먹으로 가본 한인타운 외엔 스스로 돌아다녀본적이 없는듯하다…

암튼 이번엔 가족의 일로 왔지만 기사+guide이다 보니 여기 저기 돌아다니게 되었네…

1탄 꼬맹이군이 3일간 매일 10시간 이상 강행군으로 보낸 (나는 아침에 drop하고 저녁에 pickup하러다녔던) Convention Center… 꼬맹이군 라이드 다니느라 다녀보니 달라스 다운타운에 이것저것 많네…

Despite Dallas was the most city I travelled in my career, I have never even had a proactive step to check out the downtown (all I remember is one whole week I was stuck in Reunion center (and back and forth to DFW), and one time taxi ride back and forth from Frisco to AA Center to watch Mavericks game)

First check was on Convention Center where VEX was happening

Doma Seolleongtang/도마 설렁탕

Dallas 도착후 레트카를 픽업하고 뭘먹을까하다가 아무래도 시차 있는 위장에 음식을 밀어 넣으려면 한식만한게 없다는 생각에 공항에서 가깝기도 하고 아무 생각없이 Royal Ln쪽으로 향했다. 항상 애용했던 달동네가 휴일인 관계로 설렁탕집을 찾아가 먹었다…. 이집 대박이네…나의 국밥충인 측면을 잘 다스려주셨다.

(한편 예전에는 올 때마다 달동네를 주로 갔던 이유가 한편으로는 밤에 늦어서 무조건 갔던 거구나란 생각도..ㅎㅎ)

Dallas Love Field

물론 ‘달’동네의 제일 큰 공항은 DFW이지만 역시 공항은 작은 공항이 정답임을 보여주는 공항이다…물론 Southwest가 시작한 공항으로 공항에 있는 비행기는 Southwest로 도배가 되어 있고… (심지어 Southwest Airline의 로고에 하트가 달려있고 Stock Code가 LUV임)

First time in DAL or Love Field airport : Field full of Love 🙂

Alaska 158: Seattle to Dallas Love Field

애들이 커지니 행동반경이 커지네…우리 꼬맹이군이 있던 로보틱스 팀이 세계대회에 출전자격을 받아서 세계대회 개최지인 Dallas에서 이번주를 보내게 되어 월요일에 Dallas로 향하는 비행기에 올라탔다..

예전 T-Mobile시절 한달 건너서 한번씩 꼭 가던 Dallas – 기억해보니 마지막으로 가본건 스승님 산소에 인사차 Oklahoma로 가고 Austin에 지인만나러 가는김에 중간 지점인 Dallas로 갔던게 10년전이다.. 그러다 그당시 아장아장 걸어다니던 꼬맹이군이 커져서 꼬맹이군 덕분에 다시 Dallas를 찾게 되었다.

Big-D for the first time in last 10 years! 🙂 and first time in Love field- Home of Southwest which was my first case in B-School..
