As my Tesla Y being closer to 2 years mark – I realized something is starting smell and I never changed air filters on model Y as Tesla doesn’t requires any ‘regular’ maintenance such as Oil change ๐ so as poor family man decided to go with DIY path
Y has, surprisingly, two types of filters like same as ICE vehicle: Cabin and Intake (I do not understand why Electric requires two though ๐ ) but ordered two types and evaporator cleaner as well
After watching several Youtube videos of changing each (which ~15min each for Cabin and Intake) – as usual- took total ~3 hours to finish both replacements:) haha yes ‘1 short video taking 1 hour or so’ rules are still effective ๐
We finally had a parting moment with our lovely family car Odyssey after 17 years from the moment we brought it home. We had lots of fun and too many adorable memories attached to this mini van which never hesitated to drive us all around the places we went and acumulated 210k miles afterwards.
Now The Oddy is on new owners hand – hopefully serving their needs in, maybe, few remaining years of its life. ๐ One big milestone or end of chapter for our families bittersweet – ToT
This was the 4th nail in Tesla’s tire in last 20 months of ownership – The more I think, I come to conclusion that something is seriously wrong with design of this vehicle (or Continental tires?) …. I never had these many nails with other cars…
Tesla’s strict tire repair rules without buyback policy in junction with expensive Continental tire’s price, plus vehicle not having a spare/emergency tire, forced me to try rounds of temporary patch at this time as all tires have been progressing to end of life after two random single new tire replacement in last year.
First attempt of using with strip method totally failed ๐ but screw & bond method finally made me believe I bought enough time till Costco ordered new tire’s arrival…
