Alaska 675: Las Vegas to Seattle

결국 우려하던 사태가 마지막에 우리 발목을 잡았다. 어렵게 돌아와서 맛있게 무제한 스시집을 먹고 공항으로 향했건만… 결국 2시간 반 delay… (다음 비행기는 아예 cancel – 사실 예약할때 그편과 이편을 고민하다 그냥 여행한 이후에 한 밤중에 운전하기 싫어 조금 빨리오는걸 하자 해서 잡은 비행기였는데 불행중 다행이다만 결국은 한 밤중 운전 귀가)

그래서 예정에도 없던 Lounge에 앉아 시간 떼우다가 겨우 탄 비행기는 이래저래 흔들흔들.. 심지어 wifi도 흔들거렸는지 중간에 목적지가 아프리카 앞바다로 표시되어 뜨아 하기도 했다…아무튼 무사히 내렸건만 Seattle은 눈 예보… 다행인건 영상이라 얼지는 않는 눈이라 살살 몰아서 무사히 집에 돌아왔다..

Finally the weather we thought we escaped caught us – after full stomach after unlimited Sushi house at LV, we arrived at the airport on time and noticed our flight back to Seattle got delayed (total 2.5 hours) – which was better than the last flight which got cancelled straight.

(Meanwhile during the flight the destination was showing off some west coast of Africa haha 🙂 ) Meanwhile at Seattle snow welcomed us 🙂 to remind this is mid winter break..

Joshua Tree National Park

뭐 좋았다면 좋았고 아쉬웠다면 아쉬웠던 Joshua Tree National Park – 일단 밤에 별을 보는건 애시당초 포기에 여기서부터 사실 날씨와의 사투가 시작도 되었다…ㅎㅎ

나름 1여행 1국립공원을 가겠다는 불타는 의지로 갔지만 이번엔 그냥 유명한 볼만한 곳 Keys View, Skull Rock 찍먹만 하고 다음 기회엔 아예 여름에 오는걸로…ㅎㅎ

Good park but disappointing weather and timing so had to punt the most to next visit 🙂

CA-247 Barstow to Yucca Valley

I-15 Barstow에서 California 247 State road를 타고 남쪽으로 돌아갔다.

이때부터 Souther California Winter Storm이 몰려오는 동네를 (세상에 남가주에 Winter Blizzard Storm warning 이라니…ㅎㅎ) 피해 전력 질주..ㅎㅎ 덕분에 Big Bear로 유명한 산도 멀리서나마 경치 감상..

Finally turned south by using California 247 and this was the moment I was hide-and-seeking with Southern California Winter/Blizzard Storm warning 🙂

I-15 Las Vegas to Barstow

I think I have passed this road maybe 3 times in my life but I don’t remember any sceneries of the road

First was after spending all night by walking the entire strip and I was a shot-gun so half sleeping :). Second was the time when the entire sceneries was covered with snow. and Last time I was simply driving at night to LA so all I remember is full darkness.

Original plan was cutting thru Mojave but the road was closed for several days 😦 so had to take a detour via Freeway but at least I got the skimming taste of Mojave desert. 🙂

그러고 보니 이길은 몇번 지나가긴 했는데 경치를 보며 지난 기억이 거의 없다…ㅎㅎ

대충 생각해보니 기억나는건 이길을 한 세번 정도 지난거 같은데 첫 번은 처음 왔을때 밤새 걸어다니다가 동행해주셨던 형님 부부가 그냥 집에가서 자자고 해서 비몽사몽상태에서 지나가서 기억이 없고….ㅎㅎ

두번째 지나갔을 때는 폭설에 묻혀서 눈밭속을 달려간 엄한 기억이고…

세번째 지나갔을땐 해가 지고 난 이후라 칠흑같은 어둠만 있었는데 이번엔 그래도 제대로 사막을 좀 보며 지나갔다.

아쉬운건 원래는 Mojave를 뚤고 가려고 했는데 출발하는데 보니 날씨가 좋지 않아 모하비 관통하는 길을 이틀동안 폐쇄한다는 비보에 그냥 Freeway로 돌아갔다.

Mojave사막 말그대로 수박 겉만 핥았지만 이렇게 생겼었구나..
