Eastrail Trail

Seattle에 처음왔을때만해도 실제로 기차가 가끔 다니던 길이였던 곳이 몇년전엔가 철도를 걷어내면서 trail로 바뀌었다. 얼마전 Spring district를 자전거로 지나가다 그쪽으로 연결되는 길이 보여서 지난 주말에 실행..

집에서 520 Trail로 시작해서 Northup Way로 빠질때 Sound Transit 기지창 옆으로 빠져나와 주욱가니 일단 끝은 Google Kirkland Campus에서 끝.. 거기서 자전거를 돌려 다시 Spring district를 거쳐 Bel-Red를 타고 집에 도착

결국 대충 15 mile 왕복에 두시간 주파 (GPS tracker가 꺼져있었다..아쒸…) 3개 city (Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland)를 지나고 2개 freeway(I-405, WA-520)를 따라 다니고 3개 회사(Microsoft, Google, Meta)의 campus를 지나갔다 🙂

2 Hours roundtrip biking along with 2 freeways and 3 cities and 3 corporation campuses + view of Lake Washington

Starbucks #3

슬프게도 아무도 #1이 아니면 기억해주지 않는다… 나도 Seattle에와서 강산이 한번 반 바뀌도록 Bellevue Square건너편 인적 드믄 Starbucks 가게가 내 나이랑 삐까삐까한 #3인줄 몰라보셨다.. 못알아봐서 미안하다…ㅎㅎㅎ

물론 맛도 똑같은데 관광객의 인산인해로 정신없는 1호점에서 커피를 사먹은적은 거의 없다는 점으로 소심한 위로(?)를..

Had no idea almost in last 15 years that this Bellevue location (across NE 8th from Bellevue Square) was actually Starbucks #3… 🙂

Presidents Day 2022

날씨도 화창한날 기분도 좋고 무엇보다도 휴일이기도 하고해서 좀 쌀쌀하지만 나섰다… 나름 새로운 route를 개척해본다고 520을 타고 가다가 Northup Way에서 나와 Bel-Red쪽으로 돌아오는 길… 버거도 맛나게 먹고 새로 생긴 동네의 남 회사캠퍼스도 지나가면서 보고..

However…. 기본/민짜 자전거의 한계인가… 거의 다 돌아올때즘 마지막 block 언덕을 낑낑대며 올라오는데 체인이 이탈해서 심상치 않네하고 다시 장착하고 갔는데 좀 가다 텅텅하더니 “빠삭”과 함께 체인이 날라가주셨다…물론 민짜를 작년 여름부터 심심찮게 굴리긴 했다만 아직 이정도로…ToT

결국 내 최애하는 동네 버거가게는 전화주문만 하다가 처음으로 식당안에서 식사하는 손님을 맞았고, Meta는 건물 밖에서 와하고 부러워하는 자전거를 탄 행인의 시선을 받았으며, 아마존과 ebay가 주문 한건씩 따내셨고 YouTube는 자전거 체인 교체 관련 조회 수를 늘렸다.. 나는 무엇을 얻었는가? 체인 함 어케 해보려다 손만 더렵힌듯…:)

Fine Presidents day biking end up with broken chains – lucky it happened almost close to home but painful 🙂 Anyhow, my favorite local burger shop finally had a visitor who actually made first in-dining visit after few phone orders before, Meta had envying eyes on its new building in Bellevue, eBay and Amazon had new orders, and YouTube had increase in traffic of searching for bike chain replacement.

and I end up having a dirty hand from broken chain inspection process 🙂

First ride of 2022

간만에 시간이 나고 비도 않오고 나름 상대적으로 덜 피곤해서 ( =낮잠을 안자도 될듯해서) 겨우내 묵혀논 자전거를 들고 동네 한바퀴를 돌았다. 근데 돌고 보니 전직장 한바퀴….ㅎㅎ

잠시 Commons에서 앉아 물한잔 마시면서 한때 맛있게 먹던 부리또를 떠올렸다..

Embarked the first ride of the year 2022 – end up riding along Microsoft campus. One sure thing is I miss the Burrito I enjoyed at the commons.

DQ Vanilla Cone

오랜만에 즐긴 DQ 바닐라콘… 🙂 이걸 보면 옛날 쌍팔년도 이전에 동네에서 먹던 이름이 참으로 신기했던 브라질아이스크림이 떠오르는건 나의 아재력인가?

Believe or not, in the old days like 80s in streets of Seoul, this kind of soft ice cream was as Brazil Ice Cream – have no idea how it got the name 🙂

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Long story short without any spoiler – Walked into the theater without single word of knowledge but absolutely a great movie and must see.

Maybe one personal factor – watching Spiderman series had always been a stone in my stomach for years (because of ….) but now I am totally free from that.. 🙂

긴말 필요없다 – 아무것도 모르고 영화관에 들어갔는데…. 꼭 보세요들!!

(한편 항상 불편한 마음으로 보던 스파이더맨을 부담 1도 없이 봐서 더 즐거웠는지도…ㅎㅎㅎ)
