얼마전에 미국 정부에서 대량살포한 자가 테스트킷… 어느 동네는 한국산을 준다는데 우리집에 온건 아쉽게도 중국산… 우리집 꼬맹이 연주회한다고 학교에서 무조건 이결과를 사진으로 첨부하라고 해서 테스트킷을 처음으로 써봤다… 뭐 테스트 키트 두줄 안나온걸 다행으로 여긴다..

Market Adjustment?

New world – now people have to pay the ‘market adjustment’ to buy a car in few weeks.

Part of it makes sense – as used car values went up close to MSRP in some cases, new car should be more expensive than that, but I still miss the days when negotiation started down from MSRP. I originally made up my mind that I have to have a willingness to pay reasonable ‘adjustment’, however, $7k more than 10% was mind blowing.

Simple price research with some motivation end up being an opportunity to build more love with my old and rusty Odyssey 🙂

아무리 물가가 미쳤고, 공급망의 문제가 많은 관계로 없어서 못 사는 시대라고 하지만 신뢰도 없는 MSRP에 별루 필요하지도 않은 옵션들 팍팍 붙여 가격만 올린차에 심지어 10%이상의 시장 할증을 붙이는건 좀 횡포에 가깝다고 느껴지는건 내가 삐딱하다는건가 싶다 🙂 이미 이야기는 들어서 어느 정도는 마음의 준비를 하고 가격을 알아봤건만 무슨 슈퍼카도 아니면서 10% 이상 부르고…:)

어차피 단순 가격 조사+중고로 팔기 귀찮은데 TradeIn얼마나 쳐주는지를 알아보려고 방문한 딜러샵에서 nego해줄수 있냐고 했더니 자기네는 네고 없는데 특별히 500불 까주겠다고 해서 그냥 허허하면서 나오려 했는데 “MSRP로 파는 곳은 대기가 엄청나다, 다음 달엔 만불로 조정 하니 지금 사야한다”는 근거 없는 싸구려티 팍팍 나는 말이 “개호갱님~”으로 들려 그냥 웃으며 나왔다.

우리 오딩이 더 사랑스러워진다.. 🙂

다음날 Market Adjustment를 줄여주고 TradeIn더 쳐준다고 전화왔다… 그 dealer shop에서는 역시 walkout하길 잘했다는 생각이다..

사실 업무때문에 이 페이지를 매일같이 보던 시절이 있었는데…

연말부터 너무나 심각하긴 하다- 다들 주위에 걸린 사람이 몇은 있는 상황이고 진짜로 일반적인 일상에 영향을 주기 시작했다.. 그전엔 remote로 일해서 어려운점이 있었다면 지금은 사람들이 쓰러져서 어려운점들이 종종 발생하기 시작한다..

이제 한편 이렇게 통계를 잡는게 의미가 있나 싶기도 하다.

Booster Shot: Mix and Match

Now, finally got the ‘peace of mind’ with Pfizer booster after nervous 7 months + few days with J&J/Janssen 😀 – Yes I was willing and happy to go with another round of sore arm.

오래기다린 Booster 완료… 뭐 이게 뭐라고 매일같이 J&J/Janssen 접종자 Booster에 대한 뉴스를 찾아본지 몇달 만에 드디어 마음이 조금 놓이고(?) 주사맞은 팔은 다시 아프다…ㅎㅎ

Covid Shortage: Rental Car

이번엔 렌터카랜다…. 신차 생산 라인이 pandemic때문에 서고, 차량용 반도체 공급도 원활하지 못한 관계로 중고차 값이 계속 올라가는 기행인데.. (내 똥차들도 작년부터 감평가가 한달에 몇십불씩 계속 올라간다..ㅎㅎㅎ) 항공 여행 수요도 급감한 김에 차가 가장 큰 비용인 렌트카 회사들이 가지고 있던 차를 가격이 올라간 중고 시장으로 많이 밀어냈고…특히 렌트카 회사들이 많이 사가는 보급/중소형 신차는 (마진이 낮은 관계로 제작사들의 생산에서도 우선순위가 떨어지고..) 여행수요가 bounce back해서 구하려고 해도 이제는 못 구하는 사태가 발생…

어떤 동네는 (주로 몬타나나 하와이 같이 다른곳에서 떨어진 곳) 아예 U-Haul트럭까지 빌려서 간다고한다// 이 사태는 최소 1년은 더 갈거라고 한다.. 참나…

회사 동료가 하와이 여행 계획 다잡고 마지막으로 렌트카 예약하려다 하루에 $300이어도 못찾는다고해서 다 취소하고 여행 목적지를 바꾸는걸보고 허허 했는데 이런 경우가 파다하다고 한다..

작년 초에 중국에서 생산이 안된다고 PC가 구하기 힘들어진 걸 시작으로 사재기로 인한 휴지/쌀/wipe 부족, 가공육 프로세싱장 집단감염으로 고기부족, 집에서 갇혀지내는 사람들이 많아서 집고치는 인구가 많아지며 목재가 딸리기 시작하고 또 뭐가 딸리기 시작하고 등등 shortage의 끝이 없고 물가는 계속 올라간다..ㅎㅎㅎ

Now it is rental car – as rental car companies sold their inventory to used car market which has been appreciating values & limited new car inventory with production backlog and semiconductor shortage. Ha….now let me think what the next one will be..

Now another shortage…SPAM

SPAM shortage? Pandemic leads to production problems – Honolulu, Hawaii news, sports & weather – KITV Channel 4

Not a surprise that this is a critical news in Hawaii, but I came to this news after wondering why I couldn’t find SPAM at Costco and Walmart in last few visits. Found reasonable package at Amazon and ordered thru it..

At the end – this is all because of stupxx pandemic (now I hate this more and more….this had enough of us..) and Amazon continues to be the winner 🙂

아 놔 이젠 스팸이 없다… 이건 고기좋아하는 먹성 좋은 사내놈 둘 있는 집의 대재앙…일단 급한대로 Amazon에서 몇통씩 파는 데를 찾아서 주문..

결국 이게 다 Covid때문이고 혜택은 다 Amazon에 돌아간다…ㅎㅎㅎ

Milkie Milkie Bingsu Cafe at Edmonds – The Last Dessert Before Corona Shutdown

Happen to visit here at last Saturday after grocery shopping (well it is more of restocking) and this dessert end up being the last dessert we had at café (with ‘very distancing’ in the store) for foreseeable future period. -Just a day before governor’s order of restaurant shutdown.

Nice Bingsu with fine & crispy ice but their ice was not milk based, so I wondered why they are calling themselves as Milkie Milke

As US never opens up any infection source details of confirmed cases on Corona -only the numbers of confirmed cases and deaths by county with news of random people getting confirmations, I found myself feeling more nervous on being outside. Especially noticing the continued growth of confirmed case numbers (now Washington state just passed 1k) Now, I think the dessert I had at last weekend seems crazier & stupid idea than few days ago..

Also, after almost-two-weeks of ‘stuck at home’, staying at home feels more comfortable as fear of being outside becomes bigger than the challenges of ‘stuck at home’

Maybe this pandemic might end up creating lots of new 2020 Otakus who will refuse to get outside and stay at home with repetition of work & sleep after all things are settled.. (and I might be already one of those.. 🙂 )

결국 당분간의 마지막이 된 ‘가게에 앉아 먹는’ 디저트 (이제는 주정부에서 모든 음식점을 takeout 만 하게금 폐쇄해서 더이상 이렇게 앉아 먹는 ‘호사’는 당분간 불가능..)

우유 빙수도 아니면서 왜 밀키밀키지?

한편, 미국에서는 확진자에 대한 감염 관련 정보를 전혀 공개하지 않고 county별 확진자 사망자 수만 발표하는 관계로 점점 증가하는 수자를 보며 (오늘부로 Washington 주 1000명 돌파…) 진짜로 이젠 어디서 어떻게 걸릴수도 있다는 생각에 밖에 나가기가 무서워진다. 한편, 지금 보면 이렇게 주말에 먹은것도 진짜 간이 부은/미친 행동이 아닐까란 생각까지 든다…

이제는 슬슬 나가는것에 대한 공포가 집안에만 있는 따분함 보다 더 커지니 집에 있는게 마음이 더 편해진다..ㅡ.ㅡ; 이번 대공황은 결국 같은 방에서 자다 일하다만 하고 사회생활을 거부하는 2020형 오타쿠를 많이 양산하겠다는 생각도 들고 나도 그중 하나가 되어가는 느낌이다…
