I-5 in Oregon

근 10년전 로드 트립처럼 완주는 아니였지만…(밑에 몇부분은 안찍었으니…) 이번 여행동안 I-5 Oregon구간도 다 지나왔다..

Covered most of I-5 in Oregon as well from Grant Pass to Portland with stops at Grant Pass, Winston, Eugene, Woodburn, and Portland – Loved no Sales tax on receipts! 🙂

Wildlife Safari

~~(Grant Pass에서 In N Out을 한번 더 먹고)~~ I-5로 올라오는길 Drive Thru Safari에 들렸다… 항상 Safari를 하게 되면 신기하다가도 이억만리에 끌려와 같혀 지내는 저 동물들도 행복할까란 생각+인간의 탐욕에 마음 한편이 안좋은것도 사실 (i.e. Tiger King) …암튼 복잡한마음…

US-199 Northern California and Southern Oregon

이제는 차를 돌려다시 북쪽으로.. 협곡옆의 아슬아슬한 길을 한참 따라가는데 California/Oregon 경계에 가니 홀랑 다 타버린 나무숲들… 작년 여름에 Seattle에서 한가득 마신 Smoke가 이 나무들이 탄거였구나.. (실제로 작년 여름에 여기서 탄 연기가 태평양으로 나갔다가 Seattle에 와서 난리도 아니였다..)

Driving back to Oregon on US-199 – The burnt woods remind me that this place was the origin of 2020 Seattle Summer Smoke.

큰 나무를 하도 많이 봐서 감흥은 떨어지지만 볼때마다 경이로움은 계속… 이번 나무여행의 마지막 스탑…

The final stop of this “Tree Trip” still amazing to see this tall and big trees.

Redwoods National Park & State Parks: Howland Hill Road at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park

Fun ride on unpaved road – another unexpected fun – thanks to US-101 construction detour..

빽빽한 나무와 나무사이 구멍도 뻥뻥뚤려있는 비포장길 스릴있게 기도하며 달렸다… (타이어야 빵꾸나지마라..4륜 아닌데 무사히 지나가라…일차선이니 앞에서 차 오지마라…ㅎㅎㅎ)

Last day in Redwoods – same traffic control/jam due to US-101 rockslide – there was a continuous splash in sea – so I assumed this is a friendly California big whale saying goodbye to me or simply sunbathing.. 🙂

Redwoods에서 마지막날의 시작. US-101을 올라가는데 역시나 길이 막혔다…시동끄고 주변을 둘러보는데 숲사이로 보이는 바다에서 큰 미확인 물체가 계속 물보라를 발생시키고 있었음… 잘가라고 문안인사 하는 고래인듯싶다. 🙂

길옆이 바다.. 사실 US-101에 산사태가 심하게 나서 보수공사중인 관계로 1차선만 운행하여 차들이 밀려서 찍을수 있었던 사진..

Redwoods National Park & State Parks: Corkscrew Tree at Newton B. Drury Parkway in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park

심지어 높은데 꽈배기 모양까지… 이정도는 되어야 이름이 붙더라… 삐익삐익 꼬였고 들쑥날쑥하다.. 머릿속은 온통 스크류바 CF송 및 대학때 당구장에서 먹던 꽈배기빵이 떠나질 않는다.. 맛이 좋은 얼음꽈배기 롯데 스크류바~

You only have a special name if you have a unique feature.. -tall and big AND twisted as a screw.

Redwoods National Park & State Parks: Big Tree Wayside at Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park

이 국립/주립 공원에서는 이정도 나무는 되어야 큰 나무 지칭을 받는다.. 가슴벌렁거리는게 많이 줄었다..

Still doesn’t have a unique name or nickname but simply only called as big tree – really hard to stand out at this park…

Redwoods National Park & State Parks: Fern Canyon in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park

One of the lessons learned from last Kauai trip – if the place has been pictured in Jurassic Park, it is great! – so we went here without any doubt. Small taste of off-road driving from unexpected mountainous unpaved roads and crossing the small creak with mini-van was a bonus indeed.

지난 하와이 카우아이 여행에서 배운게 있다면 주라기공원 촬영 장소이면 무조건 가도 된다라는 믿음이다.. 여기가 그런곳중 하나인데 Dinosaur attack in Jurassic Park 2 – YouTube 졸졸 흐르는 개울이 흐르는 협곡을 tracking하는 코스.. 멋지다….

단, 가는 길이 좀 험난-큰 나무 빽빽한 경사진 비포장 일차선 길+ 개울도 차로 건너야함-한게 단점이긴한데 뭐 offroad갬성도 느껴보고 해서 좋았음…
