I must have lived long enough in Seattle – realizing my exex workplace is the sponsor of the event and music from my ex workplace is played during the celebration show. π
This -from Southeastern WA to Southern Idaho via Northeast Oregon was the most critical point for deciding the timing of travel -thanks to their elevation & snow activity- all safely passed without any snow – magically π
Even after living in Seattle metro for almost 15 years, passing I-90 Snoqualmie Pass in winter has always been a picturesque thing, thrill, & sometimes a drama π
This time, waiting for temporary pass closure in snow due to multiple prior crashes was a good thrill/nerve test. π
Travel to California always bring series of mood changes from weather – first, get excited and envying, then gets into jealous minds, but those moods always disappear immediately after the first step outside of Seatac airport. π I love the moist and crisp air in Seattle! π
First family air trip since this pandemic started – and also a little comp to myself and families who weren’t able to have a summer vacation in this year.
California always rules in weather and sunshine but at the end I always realizes how the air is fresher at PNW whenever I return π Anyhow good refresh in mental health & Vitamin D (and run an extreme stress test on the stomach)
Saturday morning walk-around-alone at Downtown Seattle.
Block by block walking showed lots changes since I was walking around the downtown [Almost full 7 years ago!!] when I was working at SLU. Alaskan Way Viaduct has now fully teared down, lots of downtown shops at first floor are empty, 3rd Ave is now fully bus only street and bike lanes are here and there.
Lots of things must have contributed in different ways on the changes of the Downtown’s scene – Endless developments with high rises, “Seattle is Dying”, Covid 19 etc….
