Night Snowboarding at Alpental in Snoqualmie Pass

First time on the slope in Alpental.. and, yes, I really did roll (front & back, once each) by not being familiar with snowboarding on powder & passing thru mogul-like slopes..

휴…처음 두번 내려올 땐 정말 울고 싶었다… 🙂 파우더와 모굴 통과하는 방법과 스피드 올리는 방법을 많이 고민했다…

Now, I happily passed the break even point for Lift Season Pass with returned snowboard from the bonehead snowboarder who picked up mine at resort last time..

Snoqualmie Pass while playing Blizzard Mountain @ I-90 and Autosock on Odyssey

Wow… the sky must have heard me sighing on not using the recently bought tire socks. Snow started from Friday so the pass was “Chain required or AWD only” played “Bizzard Mountain” in real life.

Installing Socks was fun- no alignment, no laying down to do the wire chain. Just as simple as we wear socks, everything was done in 5 min 🙂 and immediately the tire worked great – now I don’t have any regret of not buying an AWD.. 🙂

금요일부터 미치도록 산에 눈이오더니 결국 우리가 가는 토요일도 밤새 내린 눈에 고속도로가 완전이 눈밭이 되었다. 그래서 결국 포장도 안뜯은채 가지고 다니던 오딩이 양말 드디어 개시… 전혀 안미끄러지고.. (뭐 경사길에선 좀 벅벅거렸으나 – 뭐 쇄체인해도 그랬을듯-.. 기어 낮추니 전혀 문제 없었음).. 장착 탈착 각각 5분 이하로…쇄철사 역느라 힘든 사람들 보며 웃어주셨다..ㅎㅎ

덕분에 엄청 편하게 잘 갔다오고 엄청난 파우더위에서 최고 설질의 보딩을 해주셨다….

체인을 사야하는 사람에겐 강추… 유일한 단점은 양말인 관계로 다음에 쓰려고 젖은걸 말려야한다는점?

암튼 강추!!

지난주에 I-90 Snoqualmie Pass에 스톰이 온다고 주말 가족 스키 레슨에 못갈까봐, 혹은 갔다 못내려올까봐 부랴부랴 월요일날 주문한 우리 오딩이 양말… 쇄 체인은 잘할 자신도 없고, 차도 망가트릴수 있다는 생각에 양말 한쌍 주문했다…

문제는 그 스톰때문에 이 양말이 배달이 지연되어 안절부절했다가 그래도 마지막 순간인 금요일날 도착..허나 토요일 날씨는 괜찮았던 관계로 아직 첫 착용은 다음기회로.. 🙂 이제 양말도 있으니 무적이다… 4륜이 아니라 겨울 혹은 초봄에 어디 여행갈때 걱정이었는데 이제는 무적..ㅎㅎ..

Funny the “Sock” delivery was delayed due to weather while I ordered this due to the weather. Finally, the weather of actual day we intended use end up being zero problem at all.. 🙂 Anyhow – now I am fully ready to drive in snowy roads!

지난 주말에도 탔다는 핑계로 아예처음부터 위로 올라와서 시작… 괜시리 기분 좋아서 점프하면서 switch 하다가 슬로프에 뽀뽀할뻔….폭망… 그냥 곱게 내려가자..ㅎㅎㅎ

Summit Central at Snoqualmie

Everyone in my family except me started the ski lesson on Saturday morning from last week for 6 week schedule so I also decided (and somewhat forced) to come to mountains every weekend. I was debating between coffee-and-reading and snowboarding but end of doing the season rent for snowboard and season pass for lift. Good to be back on the board! 🙂

뭐 속도를 올린다거나 새로운 스킬을 시도한다거나 하지는 않겠지만 또 언제 해보겠냐란 생각에 보드를 잡았다..게다가 애들도 보고 있으니 한국에선 잘 쓰지도 않던 헬멧도 장착… 오토바이에 가스통만 들고 다니면 완전 ㅎㅎ

근데 아무리 신경 안쓸려고 노력해도 이넘의 부실한 미국 리프트 시스템은 이해가 안가고 불안해 죽겠다..

1) 일단 안전바가 없고 망도 없다… 나같은 open space 고소 공포증 있는 사람은 죽음이다.. 정말 엉덩이 의자에 바짝대고 앉아 피가 마른다..

2) 보드는 꼭 한발에 끼고 타야하니 내릴 때 한발이 풀린 채 불안한 자세로 곧장 sliding을 해야한다.. 게다가 리프트가 높아지면 부츠채로 빠지지 않을까 심히 걱정된다.. 한국처럼 그냥 들고타게 하면 안될까?
