Las Vegas Strip and GR Burger

슬픈건지 당연한건지… 8박9일간 나름 distancing하면서 여행한답시고 자차로 산넘어 다니고 마스크 쓰고 삽질하며 다닌 결과 우리집 식구가 제일 기억에 남는건 영국 욕쟁이 아재의 버거란다.. 🙂

뭐 맛은 좋은건 나도 인정하긴 한다만…

At the end, all the kids remember from this trip is Gordon Ramsay’s Burger… I anticipated and also somewhat hoped the fantasy built during last trip with this burger broke with this visit but end up reinforcing/confirming it. 😀

Alaska 431: Los Angeles to Seattle – Back to Home or Rain

Santa Monica Beach구경하고 돌아오는 길 Costco에서 기름넣다가 엄청 기다리고, In N Out 버거 먹는데 엄청나게 기다린 탓에 공항에 늦어져서 Rental Car Return길도 잘못들고 LAX한바퀴를 광속으로 돌아주시고 싸들고 나온 버거 Rental Car Shuttle부터 LAX 탑승 gate앞까지 기회 날때마다 우걱우걱 먹어주셨다.. (반쯤 먹은 버거 Xray도 한번 찍어주시고…. 게다가 먹을때마다 마스크 내렸다가 올렸다가하니 더 번거로움..ㅎㅎ..)

항상 그렇듯 California는 있을때는 와 하고, 돌아올땐 아 짜증 이러다가… Seattle에 돌아와 공항 밖의 공기 한숨 마시면 아쉬운 마음이 바로 사라진다… 있을땐 아 날씨 부럽부럽 햇빛 부럽부럽인데 돌아오면 공기좋고 촉촉하고 시원하고 좋다… 🙂

Travel to California always bring series of mood changes from weather – first, get excited and envying, then gets into jealous minds, but those moods always disappear immediately after the first step outside of Seatac airport. 🙂 I love the moist and crisp air in Seattle! 🙂

520 Trail

Real first bike trailing last week after setting up cycling basics – all calories burned during 3 hours of biking burned recouped with Five Guys…

우리집 꼬맹이군과 나름 자전거 장만하고 첫번째로 제대로 자전거 트레일을 탔다.. 이름하여 520 Trail – 520번 고속도로를 따라 만들어놓은 자전거길인데 끝없는 업힐과 다운힐의 연속으로 가다가 결국엔 Lake Washington을 건너 시애틀까지 연결하는 길.. 힘겹게 태운 칼로리 집에 오는길에 다섯친구들 가게에서 아주 가볍게 보충해 주셨다..

In-N-Out at Eureka, California

뭐 솔직히 여기를 여행지로 정한 이유중 하나는 이거였다고도 부정못한다… 서울에서 이 맛을 그리워할 동지들 쏘리… 나도 이거 먹기 겁나 힘들다…ㅎㅎㅎ (~~그리고 이건 단지 시작이었을분..여기를 필두로 오레곤에서 두번 더 먹은건 비밀..~~) Drive Thru가 너무 줄이 길다는 핑계로 망설였던 실내 취식… 가뿐히 맘편하게 먹고 정말 오랜만에 실내에서 버거 먹었다.. Washington에 살면서 다른데 부러운건 별로 없는데 딱 부러운 동네 하나는 In-N-Out이 있는 동네…ㅎㅎㅎ

Well you drove crazy miles for travel – so why miss this opportunity?

Korean-Style Fried Chick’n from Shake Shack

양념치킨맛 치킨버거 from 쉑쉑… – 백김치를 slaw로 넣었는데 좀더 넣어도 되지 않았을까 싶은 느낌도 듬.. 뭐 치킨버거 패티를 살짝 튀기고 한국식 양념 치킨 소스를 발라서 완성… 나쁘지는 않은데 쉑쉑에서 기대하는 스모키한 버거의 맛은 이 레서피로 만들수가 없으니 약간 그런 기대와 잘 맞지 않지만 나쁘지 않다.. 버거 하나 뚝딱 먹고 나니 차라리 그냥 양념치킨을 팔아보심 어떨까란 생각도… 🙂

Tipsy Cow Burger Bar

First attempt to eat out after the day before lockdown.. – and luckily this was right after the phase 2 was initialed and before the BLM movement/Memorial day started; so before the “resurge” – ate at outside bench, tasted great, but felt nervous as hell 😦 as there are lots of people walking around (and obviously not everyone is taking masks) and had to take the my mask off while eating.. so personally decided that I am not mentally ready to pretend to be back to normal ..

At the end, I wondered whether we can go back to old days of eating without any fear..

지난달말 몇 달만에 봉쇄가 일부 완화된 이후 처음으로 가족들과 한 외식… 이때만 해도 재창궐하기 이전이라 (George Floyd/BLM 및 Memorial Day 이전) 오랜만에 맛있는 버거흡입해 주러 나썼는데…

여전히 마스크 안쓰고 다니는 인간들 때문에 버거가 입으로 들어갔는지 어디로 들어갔는지 기억이 잘 나지 않았다.. 언제쯤 마음의 여유를 가지고 일상으로 돌아갈수 있을까 궁금하다…

Chick-Fil-A To-Go

Chick-Fil-A To go pickup – store is still crowded with drive thru although dining hall is closed. (you tell the staff at the door -blocked by table- then they hand it to you at the door.)

This was a totally opposite to the case I picked up the day before at local Thai restaurant (which is the hot spot for walking traffic form T-Mobile & I used to eat at there a lot) Store was dark not many to go orders and I could see the pain of survival in the restaurant’s staff’s face..

Sadly, this Stay At Home Order is impacting restaurants totally different ways – if store is driven by car traffic, looks like it is relatively holiding okay, but if the store is dependent on nearby foot/walking traffic, this must be a nightmare..

어제 점심은 Chick Fil A에서.. pickup (Doordash로 해도되긴하는데 그래도 … 직접하는게 좋을듯해서…) 가게 문앞을 Table로 막고 online으로 주문한걸 pickup해가는 방식.. 물론 Drive Thru는 여전히 엄청나게 줄이 길다..

사실 어제는 동네 Thai집에서 pickup해서 먹었는데 (여긴 주고객이 T-mobile직원임..나도 옛날에 애용하던 가게…) 픽업하러가서 한적한 식당과 우울한 표정의 가게 직원을 보니 마음 한편이 짠했는데 Chick Fil A는 (물론 홀에는 사람이 없지만.. ) Drive Thru 여전히 꽉차있다…

Stay At Home Order는 사람들이 차로 가는 가게는 상대적으로 타격이 적은데 비해..아무래도 걸어 가는 가게는 타격이 어마어마한듯하다…

Burger King $12.99 Family Bundle

Another ‘Deal ~~because of Corona~~ for the Family’ at last weekend. 🙂

Total 6 burgers (3 Whoppers & 3 Cheese Burgers) + 3 Fries = $12.99+Tax – not bad for our family (with 2 furiously eating boys..) and has been a while to enjoy BK’s Whopper.. (You need a Burger King’s App to claim this deal..)

Cleared off one more meal with nice $12.99+Tax

지난 주말 버거왕 ~~‘코로나’~~ 패밀리 딜을 사다 먹었다… (한때 옛날 서울에서는 거의 하루 건너 먹던 시절도 있었건만.. 진짜 오랜만에…)

뭐 버거 6개(와퍼 3 치즈버거 3) 에 감자 3개까지 12.99+Tax 너무 많지 않나 걱정했건만 우리집 ‘불타는 청춘’ 형제가 ‘쳐묵’하시는 바람에 딱 적당했다.. 나쁘지 않은데란 생각으로 즐겁게 한끼 또 해결… 🙂
