Nongshim Gamjatang Myun/농심 감자탕면

Well this one turned out to be a swing and a miss.. although good idea and looks good for trying to make “Potato Soup” in context of noodle – end up not tasting much like that though..

(BTW this is still one of the great mystery how this pork bone soup with potato got the name of potato soup-  in context of instant noodle.)

Anyhow this attempt failed to convey the taste of “pork bone” (aka tonkotsu) nor failed to make the noodle taste good…

이름이 신기해 사본 감자탕면… 감자탕을 라면으로??? 허나 대실패인듯.. 색만 비슷하지 감자탕도 라면도 아닌 어정쩡이 되어버렸다.. 감자탕의 뼈맛도 없고, 결국 라면의 식감 및 풍미도 살리지 못한 아쉬움이 가득이다..

Large $13이면 뭐 괜춘.. 단 집에서 bake해야하는 번거로움(?)이 있음…

Last weekend, adventured into Papa Murphy’s (has been years…) $13+Tax for Large Triple Pepp – I think this beats Costco pizza then… 🙂

Had a busy day with deep cleaning the outdoor grill – so had a day to keep vinegar & baking soda handy during the day.. while just before putting the baking soda back to the pantry, I saw the sugar jaw and the ladle on the kitchen. So naturally decided to take a memory lane of late 80s in Seoul with Dalgona made with ladle…

Longer Stay at Home force you to do epic things… 🙂

1년에 한번 하는 야외 그릴 청소하느라 식초+베이킹 소다+물를 혼합해 겁나게 청소한 후 밤… 베이킹소다 백을 정리하다 보니 앞에 설탕통과 하필 국자가 보여.. 쌍팔년도로 돌아가서 달고나 뽑기를 만들었다.. 아 맛좋다..ㅎㅎ

Stay at Home이 길어지니 별거를 다한다는 생각…-.-;

Chick-Fil-A To-Go

Chick-Fil-A To go pickup – store is still crowded with drive thru although dining hall is closed. (you tell the staff at the door -blocked by table- then they hand it to you at the door.)

This was a totally opposite to the case I picked up the day before at local Thai restaurant (which is the hot spot for walking traffic form T-Mobile & I used to eat at there a lot) Store was dark not many to go orders and I could see the pain of survival in the restaurant’s staff’s face..

Sadly, this Stay At Home Order is impacting restaurants totally different ways – if store is driven by car traffic, looks like it is relatively holiding okay, but if the store is dependent on nearby foot/walking traffic, this must be a nightmare..

어제 점심은 Chick Fil A에서.. pickup (Doordash로 해도되긴하는데 그래도 … 직접하는게 좋을듯해서…) 가게 문앞을 Table로 막고 online으로 주문한걸 pickup해가는 방식.. 물론 Drive Thru는 여전히 엄청나게 줄이 길다..

사실 어제는 동네 Thai집에서 pickup해서 먹었는데 (여긴 주고객이 T-mobile직원임..나도 옛날에 애용하던 가게…) 픽업하러가서 한적한 식당과 우울한 표정의 가게 직원을 보니 마음 한편이 짠했는데 Chick Fil A는 (물론 홀에는 사람이 없지만.. ) Drive Thru 여전히 꽉차있다…

Stay At Home Order는 사람들이 차로 가는 가게는 상대적으로 타격이 적은데 비해..아무래도 걸어 가는 가게는 타격이 어마어마한듯하다…

Jjapaguri with Steak/짜파구리+Steak

Originally this mix of Chapagetti & Neoguri became famous from one of the TV variety show (“Camping with Dad”) but revitalized the hype with movie Parasite (with Steak in it as a upscale upgrade.. 🙂 )

또다른 면식 기행.. 그리고 아직 보지도 않은 기생충 🙂 덕에 “아빠어디가” 이후에 재조명된 짜파구리를 오랜만에 드셨다. 때마침 일부 있던 Steak도 첨가.. (이로써 또 4인가족 한끼 해결..ㅎㅎㅎ)

Pulmuone Spicy Beef Flavored Ramen Noodle Soup/풀무원 생면식감 육개장칼국수

칼국수가 먹고 싶던 와중에 먹은 풀무원 육개장 칼국수 –

풀무원은 이제 라면의 면식감은 명불허전급… 약간 아쉬운건 훌륭한 면발과 훌륭한 후레이크가 진한 육개장 국물에 묻혀부린 감이 없잖아 있어 아쉽웠다..

Another nice noodle from Pulmuone (maybe Pulmuone has the best quality for the noodle now..) Still decent one but maybe broth was a bit strong though.

Burger King $12.99 Family Bundle

Another ‘Deal because of Corona for the Family’ at last weekend. 🙂

Total 6 burgers (3 Whoppers & 3 Cheese Burgers) + 3 Fries = $12.99+Tax – not bad for our family (with 2 furiously eating boys..) and has been a while to enjoy BK’s Whopper.. (You need a Burger King’s App to claim this deal..)

Cleared off one more meal with nice $12.99+Tax

지난 주말 버거왕 ‘코로나’ 패밀리 딜을 사다 먹었다…  (한때 옛날 서울에서는 거의 하루 건너 먹던 시절도 있었건만.. 진짜 오랜만에…)

뭐 버거 6개(와퍼 3 치즈버거 3) 에 감자 3개까지 12.99+Tax 너무 많지 않나 걱정했건만 우리집 ‘불타는 청춘’ 형제가 ‘쳐묵’하시는 바람에 딱 적당했다.. 나쁘지 않은데란 생각으로 즐겁게 한끼 또 해결… 🙂

As everyone is snuggling or stucked at home, decided to try something new things from YouTube as a ‘refresher’. Learned great 6 Spam rice simple recipes from YouTube (Simple Cooking)

Quick & fun prep with kids and now we cleared off one more meal..

온가족이 어우려져 지내는 생활도 이제 한달이 넘어가니 이것저것 새로운것 들을 시도해본다.. 갱상도 사투리 걸쭉하게 쓰는 자취요리신 YouTube에 나오는 간단하게 만드는 스팸 밥요리 6가지를 참고해서 만들어본 간장쫄인 스팸 덮밥…ㅎㅎㅎ

마 가안단하고 주김니데이…ㅎㅎ덕분에 또 주말의 한 끼니 해결..ㅎㅎ
