Driving US-101 at Olympic Peninsula

Olympia에서 커피한잔 들고 출발하면서 (맛있다는 가게를 구지찾아갔으나 왜구지 여길 왔을까란 맛…) Kurt Cobain의 고향 Aberdeen을 지나 Olympic National Forest를 지나 바다갓가 나타나는 곳까지 지나갔다.. 이 동네 경찰들 시골마을의 수익원은 과속딱지란 생각으로 무자비하게 잡아대는 걸로 초유명… (보통 국도인데 갑자기 조그만 마을이 나오면 속도가 반으로 줄어드는곳이 많음.. ) 까딱하다간 300불 폭망인 관계로 진짜 속도 준수…

Started from Downtown Olympia with a coffee – don’t know why this shop is famous… 🙂 – and passed thru the Home of the Kurt Cobain, Aberdeen, driving thru the forest and finally got into the seashore side.

Cafe Du Monde

가본적은 없는 Lousiana의 유명한 Coffee인데 캔 디자인도 복고풍이고 해서 사봤음…진한 French Blend맛 – 맛은 강하고 좋은데 우유를 타 먹는거라 recommend하지만 본인의 문제로 우유는 못타먹음.. 한번 시도했다가 바로 직행…T_T

비싸지만 않으면 항상 사먹을텐데 하는 아쉬움이다..ㅎㅎ

Great drip coffee just picked it up because of old style can design but it worked/tasted great!! (although I could not follow the recommendation at the can – drinking this as Cafe au lait – due to my personal issue…- tried once and that thing happened ) 🙂

Brown Sugar Latte/黑糖라떼

얼마전에 장보다가 신기해서 사고 정확한 물량에 하라는데로 했는데 표지사진과는 아주 다르게 저렇게 나왔다.. 맛도 밍밍… 어이가 없어 자세히 봤더니 “본 이미지는 실제와 다를 수 있습니다”.. 이정도면 “본 이미지와 실제는 아주 다릅니다”가 되어야 하지 않을까…

Picked up from H-Mart with curiosity +fascination with how the tea looked on box’s cover picture.

Followed the exact amount of water and other things required and got something more like a yellow sugar juice.. 😦 wondering where the hack is latte then I found a warning/disclaimer words saying “This cover image can be different than what you make”

Well I think they should change that wordings to “The cover image IS EXTREMELY different than what you make”

흐하하하.. 오랜만이다..더위사냥…이런 맛은 동네 슈퍼의 아이스크림 코너에 달려있는 가위로 잘라먹는 쭈쭈바에서 시작한 -지극히- 한국적인 감성인듯…ㅎㅎ 고향의 맛이다..ㅎㅎ

어느샌가 확떴다가 훅 가버린듯한 카페베네 – instant coffee mix도 하는구나… 맛은 맥심 모카보단 살짝 아쉽지만 가성비차원에서 ok.. 🙂

Folgers Coffee

WFH하다 보니 내가 coffee를 얼마나 마시는지 새삼 알게된다. 보통집에선 Espresso machine에서 내려 먹었는데 아무래도 일하면서 마시는 coffee는 질보다 양이라 오랜만에 내려 먹는 coffee를 사야겠다 싶어서 고른 Folgers..

대학 시절 미국 Iowa 시골 기숙사에서 수없이 내려먹던 추억이 떠오른다.

Another thing learned/reminded via WFH is the fact I drink a lot of coffee… As the volume of coffee I drink cannot be sustained with Espresso machine which has been the usual go-to at home, decided to buy a can of drip coffee – can’t recall the last time I bought the drip coffee. 🙂

Folgers drip coffee reminded me the old days in the dorm in Iowa..

Dalgona Coffee

오 신비로운 맛… 인터넷에 떠다니 내용이 대충 커피:설탕:뜨거운물을 2:2:2로 하고 점성이 생길때까지 겁나게 저어 주다가 얼음+우유 위에 끈적해진 커피 달고나를 올려주면 된다고 해서 집에서 나도 시도 (내가 좀 관종인지라…ㅋㅋ)

허나 집에 instant coffee가 없어서 뀡대신 닭으로 G7 베트남 커피 한봉지로 커피는 가름하고 저어주기는 힘드니 믹서기로 한참 지져주셨더니 그럴싸하게 나온다..ㅎㅎ

역시 먹고 노는건 한국 사람을 따라갈 수 없다는걸 보여줌..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Wow.. Tried the ‘viral Korean sugar creamy’ coffee aka Dalgona (달고나) coffee

Pretty simple – the formula is instant coffee, sugar, hot water- all 2 table spoons and mix it up till you see the sticky foam starts to build up and the color turns golden brown – then prepare a cup with ice & milk and just top it with the Dalgona foam – then wait a bit and watch the foam melting into the milk. Then simply sip it.. 🙂

This one I used Vietnamese G7 coffee as I didn’t have the instant coffee as a replacement for 2 spoon of instant coffee but worked fine..
